Breitbart – by JOHN SEXTONSen. Paul’s filibuster can be viewed live on CSpan 2. Senator Rand Paul is leading a one-man filibuster of John Brennan’s nomination to lead the CIA.
Senator Paul is on the Senate floor quoting Hayek, Montesquieu, Glenn Greenwald and an author at liberal blog FireDogLake in his effort to prevent Brennan’s nomination from going through. He says he will not stop until President Obama confirms that drones will not be used to target Americans on American soil.
Brennan’s nomination has been on the back burner for several weeks as other issues, including the nomination of Chuck Hagel to Secretary of Defense, took precedence. Yesterday the logjam seemed to break when the White House agreed to show lawmakers the top-secret legal decisions used to justify the killing of American citizens abroad. The Senate Intelligence Committee voted 12-3 to approve Brennan’s nomination on Tuesday.
“If there was an ounce of courage in this body I would be joined by many other Senators,” Sen. Paul said. “Would you tolerate a Republican who said I like the first amendment, I don’t plan to violate the first amendment, but I might,” he asked rhetorically. He then turned the question around and asked if Republicans would tolerate that sort of vaguery with regard to the 2nd amendment.

Yes NC, Rand Paul is just grandstanding to gain our trust. He’s trying to lead the fight to retain our 2nd amendment rights like Henry and J.D. talked about the other day on ” The Word”. Just remember as Henry pointed out, he stabbed his own father in the back. I’m on C-Span listening to the filibuster right now.

I’ve read many of your comments, NC. Sometimes your clarity is flawless. Sometimes, you miss the point completely. Does that mean we should dump your participation based on the side of you that makes mistakes? “Once a mistake maker, always a mistake maker”?
I give you just as much of the benefit of the doubt as I give Paul. We all have the opportunity to learn our lessons and move on, grow from our mistakes or ones “traitorous” past and come into the Light. At one time, from every indication, I thought Paul was a Zionist traitor . Now I’m not so sure. I think he’s playing a role, infiltrated their ranks so as to gain the power needed to eventually break their hold on the system. A secret, “Constitutional”, agent provocateur, if you will, doing what needs to be done so as not to draw too much attention to the long term plan. However, he’s bringing a lot of attention to the his long term plan in this filibuster, imho. Frankly, I don’t think he cares to die prematurely from some unusual form of cancer.
