The predictable fruits of citizen disarmament. 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Sipsey Street Irregulars

The Armenian Genocide . . . was the Ottoman government’s systematic extermination of its minority Armenian subjects inside their historic homeland which lies within the territory constituting the present-day Republic of Turkey. The total number of people killed as a result has been estimated at between 1 and 1.5 million. The starting date is conventionally held to be 24 April 1915, the day Ottoman authorities rounded up and arrested some 250 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders in Constantinople.

The genocide was carried out during and after World War I and implemented in two phases: the wholesale killing of the able-bodied male population through massacre and subjection of army conscripts to forced labour, followed by the deportation of women, children, the elderly and infirm on death marches leading to the Syrian desert. Driven forward by military escorts, the deportees were deprived of food and water and subjected to periodic robbery, rape, and massacre. Other indigenous and Christian ethnic groups such as the Assyrians and the Ottoman Greeks were similarly targeted for extermination by the Ottoman government, and their treatment is considered by many historians to be part of the same genocidal policy. The majority of Armenian diaspora communities around the world came into being as a direct result of the genocide. — Wikipedia.

The Armenian Genocide is the prominent example of what can occur when a government decides to implement “gun control” laws, in the 20th century. The Armenian nation was a member of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. There were an estimate of 2,ooo,ooo Armenians living in the Turkish Ottoman Empire. After the fall of the sultan and the rise of Turkish chauvinism under the three Young Turks in the 1900s, the right to bear any arms was slowly limited. This did not affect Turks, Kurds, nor any other Muslims during the time. The ability to protect oneself was taken away from the Armenian people. In the coming years massacres of the Christian Armenian minority would continue. Unarmed, the Armenians would suffer the first genocide of the 20th century. —The Armenian Genocide and Gun Control

But don’t worry. According to Turkey IT NEVER HAPPENED.

  1. Remember this? Lots of INTRIGUE surrounds Jane Harman, Jan Schakowsky (both Jewish btw), Turkey, the Armenian Genocide being recognized by congress. Blackmail, spying, you name it:

The 8/8/09 deposition was brought by Krikorian as part of his defense in a case filed against him before the Ohio Election Commission (OEC) by Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH). The 2nd district Congresswoman has accused Krikorian, an Armenian-American who ran against her as an independent in 2008, of “false statements” during the campaign last year alleging that she had accepted “blood money” from Turkish interests. Krikorian says that Schmidt, co-chair of the Congressional Turkish Committee, accepted more money from Turkish interests during last year’s campaign than any other member of Congress, despite few, if any, ethnic Turks among her local constituency. He has suggested she may have been instrumental in helping to hold off a Congressional vote on a long-proposed, much-disputed resolution declaring the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians during WWI as a “genocide” by the Turks.

Those corporations – another “coincidence” – are her “constituents” again, at the WWC. Might the WWC have hired Harman for her expertise in raking in military-industrial “donations”?

•The WWC has ingratiated itself with Turkey. It has given awards to its Foreign Minister and a major Turkish corporate donor, and virtually ignored Wilson’s policies regarding Turkey and the Caucasus. Harman, too, has ingratiated herself with Turkey. She reversed her stance on the Congress’s Armenian genocide resolution (and gave absurd reasons for doing so).
•And just as the Wilson Center has gotten away (so far, anyway) with violating its Congressional mandate, Jane Harman has escaped prosecution (so far, anyway) for her dealings with a “foreign agent” in the AIPAC espionage scandal.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)’s office has vehemently denied serious allegations published by The American Conservative magazine on Tuesday, in which FBI translator-turned-whistleblower Sibel Edmonds names the Congresswoman as having participated in a lesbian affair with a Turkish agent, and being secretly video-taped for possible blackmail purposes while doing so.

    A comment in that thread:

“Schakowsky had long been friendly with the Armenian community, and had been an irritant to the Turks. Even before 2000 Schakowsky had made it clear she would push for visibility of the Armenian genocide. She is on record in 2003, 2007 and 2009 as well pushing for official House Resolutions, not exactly showing signs of being blackmailed. ”
