Tucker Carlson reacted to remarks by President Trump during an unusually publicized White House meeting with members of Congress.
Trump allowed the press to film the meeting, which included Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Mike McCaul (R-Texas) and Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
Carlson said he was surprised that Trump told the legislators that he “trusted them” to craft an immigration reform plan without his input.
He said he was even more surprised Trump verbally agreed to sign what they eventually send him.
Thanks to all of the Republican and Democratic lawmakers for today’s very productive meeting on immigration reform. There was strong agreement to negotiate a bill that deals with border security, chain migration, lottery and DACA. https://t.co/SdqAQ3aL3z pic.twitter.com/8DYHZHspAy

Carlson said the situation was out of the ordinary for the president, pointing out that his “far-left” Republican rival, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.), praised his promise.
Encouraged the President is seeking bipartisan solutions to our immigration challenges. https://t.co/acD5u5Vw76
