* Since so many have asked: There seem to be a million differing opinions out there on Peanut Butter. It should be packaged in a sealed glass jar with a metal lid and stored in a cool, dark, dry storage area. There are a good number of stories of Peanut Butter lasting 30+ years without going rancid under these conditions. I hope that helps. These statements have not been approved by the FDA. 🙂

  1. Yep, honey–and I mean RAW, UNPROCESSED HONEY! (“Pure” honey is heated to liquify it more easily, and is not quite “pure”—therecan be additives, and should NEVER be heated much above room temp!) Honey has been found in EGYPTIAN TOMBS in Pyramids dating THOUSANDS of YEARS!

Another prep skill to learn-beekeeping! You only need one or two beehives to supply yourself with raw unprocessed honey. And learn to dry veggies–peppers, bananas, some other fruits. And grow asparagus…it comes back year after year as long as there is a way to water it (but even in dry far west Texas wild asparagus grows fairly well. Rainy season is July through September.)
