A financial report issued by state auditors finds that the state of California is in the red by an unsustainable $127.2 billion.
The report says that the state’s negative status increased that year, largely because it spent $1.7 billion more than it received in revenues and wound up with an accumulated deficit of just under $23 billion in fiscal year 2011-2012, the Sacramento Bee stated.
The response of the liberal bureaurats responsible for creating this crippling debt was both appalling and predictable:
A state panel on Wednesday approved a 5% pay raise for Gov. Jerry Brown, legislators and other state elected officials…
The panel’s action boosts the salary of Brown from $165,288 to $173,987 in December, and increases legislators’ pay from $90,520 to $95,291 at the same time. Raises will also be provided to the state attorney general, state treasurer and other constitutional officers.
By putting the cartoonishly irresponsible Jerry Brown back in office, California voters elected to go over the cliff; over the cliff they go. This happened because the population of the erstwhile Golden State has been permanently transformed by massive (and largely illegal) Third World immigration. Now that whites are a minority, whoever is most likely to keep the looting spree going right up to the point of total economic collapse is assured of election. Applying this phenomenon nationwide is the purpose of the current amnesty bill.

it really does sadden me what has become of my beloved California. I was fortunate enough to have lived there during the economic boom times when Orange County still had some prestige and Ken & Barbie mentality left. When you try to explain to people the massive cultural shift that has taken place, it is hard to explain to someone without sounding racist. The cultural takeover is so massive and so apparent that it has become the new 3rd world. Then it is sugar coated by people saying room for everyone. I remember when you would go to Newport Beach and it was affluent people and mostly white surfers and trust fund kids. Now if you go to Newport Beach on a busy weekend it is a multi cultural lalapalooza cesspool. I remember when there were zit faced teenagers serving hamburgers. The hispanics have completely taken over fast food. I mean completely. And many low end restaurants. Once you leave the coastline, it is really bad. The hispanics have won. Really. by sheer numbers. and if you drive down the 210 in Pasadena during rush hour. Just look at who is in traffic. Look at the people around you in other cars. It’s bad. and it’s sad. If this is evolution and progress. I would rather be in a fly over state and just go and visit and stay in a nice hotel as opposed to putting up with an outrageously overpriced day to day grind. I remember saying in 2005 when the economy was good how do all these people afford it here? Now that the economy is bad, I just scratch my head how people survive. Everyone around you is not making 100K and you need almost that just to get by in OC. How does someone earning less than 40K even show up on the radar screen? Mind boggling. The elementary school at the end of our block in a white older neighborhood has mexicans shipped / bussed in everyday from parts unknown. There are no white kids or “other” in that entire elementary school. ZERO. and none of them live in our old neighborhood. It is like a stinky diaper that you and your neighbors have to live with, and if you say anything about it, you are a racist. California, my love, what has become of you?
You nailed it. This was a terrific place back in the fifties & sixties. I loved growing up here.
Unfortunately, it’s no longer the beautiful state I grew up in.

You have successfully undermined what was once the third largest economy in the world and caused it to become the 12th (and rapidly falling). With your open borders policies, you have caused the population to exponentially increase and have added millions of additional welfare recipients to the state. While doing so, you have also vastly expanded the size of the government, making it by far, the largest employer in the state.
Legislators, or “law makers” as they’ve come to be known, have been very prolific, creating and imposing close to 1,000 new laws each and every year. As a result, virtually everything is now regulated by various inefficient government agencies, staffed with incompetent government employees.
You have even managed to screw up and complicate the simplest of things. For example, it used to take about 5 minutes to obtain a fishing license, whereas the new process of obtaining permission from the government takes close to 30 minutes.
Fine job indeed.
