Finally, after 3 years of the driest conditions in the state’s history, California Governor Jerry Brown has declared an emergency.

On Friday, the governor took the formal step of officially declaring this an emergency situation.

“Today I’m declaring a drought emergency in the state of California, because we’re facing perhaps the worst drought that California has ever seen since records began being kept about 100 years ago.”   Continue reading “California Governor Declares Drought Emergency: Conservation Measures are Voluntary…For Now”

Officials in West Virginia claim that the water in parts of the state is now safe after a chemical spill left 300,000 people without water, but local residents aren’t so sure.  A reader graciously provided his eyewitness assessment and opinion of the situation:

I have first hand knowledge this water is not safe. For one, it smells very strongly of licorice. It has an off color; a blue hue. I will never drink it again.   Continue reading “Are Water Filters Effective Against the Chemical in the West Virginia Water Supply?”

Despite your best efforts at prevention, sometimes the flu just happens.  If you work with the public or have children in school, you and your family will be exposed, and sometimes those viruses are simply tougher than your immune system. Transmission rates are increasing to a worrisome point, according to the CDC.

When someone in your home is sick, one of your first goals is not to pass the illness on to other family members. The other priority is treating the sick people in the house with remedies that strengthen them rather than weaken them.   Continue reading “Flu Happens: Here’s What You Can Do About it Naturally”

The mainstream media reports that things are starting to look a little brighter after a chemical spill in West Virginia resulted in a complete ban on tap water last week. Residents were urged not to use the water for drinking, cooking, or even for bathing because of an industrial accident that released toxic chemical 4-Methylcyclohexane Methanol into the municipal water supply.

Local authorities report that the water is now safe in some areas, partially lifting the ban, with the careful wording that the current levels of chemicals in the water are “believed to be safe”.  Local stores ran out of water very quickly after the spill occurred, and those without stored water were left to fight it out over the few remaining bottles within a day of the accident.   Continue reading “West Virginia Water is Declared Safe…Sort of…Maybe…as the 60-Mile Chemical Plume Heads to Ohio”

H1N1, or “swine flu” is sweeping across the country, prompting the mainstream media to trumpet, “DOOM APPROACHES!!! GET YOUR FLU SHOT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!!!”

Don’t fall for the escalating propaganda that is being propelled by a fear campaign.  The flu vaccine is NOT the best way to protect yourself against the H1N1 virus.

According to reports, 6 people have died in Texas from the H1N1 virus and complications.  But the virus is not confined to that state.   Continue reading “Forget the Flu Shot: Hand-washing and Elderberry Extract Are the Best Defenses Against the Deadly Swine Flu Outbreak”

Here is a reason to store water that even non-preppers will find pertinent:  more than half a million people in West Virginia are unable to use their tap water for drinking, cooking, bathing or cleaning due to a chemical spill near a water treatment plant. Chris Carrington of The Daily Sheeple reported:

Up to 300,000 people in West Virginia have been banned from using tap water after a chemical spill in a river, which has also forced schools, bars and restaurants to close.   Continue reading “Are You Prepared for a Water Emergency? Before you line your kids up to have this year’s flu vaccine sprayed up their noses or injected into their arms, consider the fact that in Europe, children developed incurable debilitating narcolepsy after receiving injections from a drug developed by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). But it’s okay – they have created a miracle treatment that costs the child’s family only a bit over $20,000 per year…forever.

More than 800 children across Europe have been diagnosed with this lifelong neurological disorder and the evidence is overwhelming in the implication of the vaccine.  (source)   Continue reading “Big Pharma Gives Another Child Narcolepsy via the Swine Flu Vax, Then Cures It with a New Miracle Drug That Costs Over $20K per Year”

Ah, the sweet smell of Agent Orange in the morning.

Our benevolent agricultural guardians at the USDA have announced that they are allowing the introduction of new corn and soybean seeds that have been designed specifically to withstand a dousing with 2,4-D, a key ingredient in the infamously deadly Agent Orange.

Now we get to be the unwilling guinea pigs while USDA-approved test fields are planted.   Continue reading “USDA-Approved Agent Orange: It’s Coming to a Farm Near You”

Did you know that when a person receives the “FluMist” flu vaccine that anyone around them becomes exposed to the flu as the recipient “sheds” the viruses contained within the vaccine?  With all of the propaganda about how you MUST be vaccinated in order to protect those around you, you’d think that they would warn people who receive this vaccine that they’ve just become the most contagious person in the room, particularly if the person has been browbeaten into receiving the vaccine to “protect” a loved one with a lowered immune system.

This video found via Activist Post, tells of one family’s experience with a FluMist vaccine that was given to their child after the doctor guilted them into it:   Continue reading “Did You Know that Nasal Flu Vax Recipients Can Pass the Flu to Everyone Around Them for Up to 21 Days?”

Apparently the Brooklyn, NY shopping center that was put “on tilt” by a horde of teenagers the day after Christmas wasn’t the only public place under attack this holiday season. On Christmas day, over 600 people, mostly teenagers, were involved in a vicious brawl at the Hollywood River City 14 movie theater in Jacksonville, Florida.

It all began when a group of approximately 30 African-American males stormed the theater because they apparently felt entitled to see the movie without paying. (source)   Continue reading “A Mob of More Than 600 Teens Laid Siege to a Florida Movie Theater”

It has been only 7 months since the lights went out, but it feels like forever. Some people call it the Apocalypse and consider it the worst disaster that the modern world has known. At our house, we call it the Change, because my mother says that just because it is different, doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world, and that words matter. Whatever you call it, though, the day the lights went out is the day that everything in our world became dramatically different.

The days go on and on, blending into one another with the sameness of our tasks.  I don’t go to school anymore because there was no school. My mother teaches me at night, when we leave the door to the wood stove open to preserve our precious candles, but still have light bright enough to read by.   Continue reading “A Post-Apocalypse Christmas Story”

While everyone is distracted with the holiday festivities, Congress has been hard at work, screwing us over in the name of national security.

Yesterday the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act was fast-tracked through the Senate, with no time for discussion or amendments.  And you know, its Christmastime, so they just passed it so that they could recess for the holidays. The new version of the NDAA has already been quietly passed by the House of Representatives.   Continue reading “Bigger, Badder NDAA 2014 Quietly Passed the House and Senate – and It Is On the Way to Obama’s Desk”

Let’s face it:  There is something very, very wrong with kids today. It seems as though there are hordes of young psychopaths running around, wreaking havoc on others.

Two recent examples, and the reasons that I refer to these young people as psychopaths, are the “Knockout Game” in which a mob of youths target a random victim and punch him or her in the face, hoping to knock them unconscious with one blow, and the boy in Texas who got away with the murder of 4 innocent people because he was too wealthy to be punished like a normal person would have been.   Continue reading “What’s Wrong with America’s Kids? When I first read the rant of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, I was offended by his crassly stated opinion on homosexuality.  I felt it was judgmental and much more crudely stated than was necessary.  If he’d just said that this was against his religion, I, along with many others, would have gotten the point.

But this isn’t a treatise on my personal opinions about gay people and whether they should be allowed to marry and raise families, and for goodness sake, exist without harassment. I honestly don’t care one way or another how a person lives his or her life, as long as they aren’t interfering with my freedom to live my life as I choose.   Continue reading “Why I Support Both the Right to be Gay AND Phil Robertson’s Right to Criticize It”
