If Americans Knew – by Alison Weir
A group of US lawmakers from both houses of Congress introduced legislation on Wednesday to apply an Israel-centric definition of anti-Semitism to the American educational system. If passed, this would likely be used to to censor information on Israel-Palestine on U.S. campuses.
The basic formulation on which the definition is based was originally created by an Israeli official in 2004. Versions have since been inserted into various entities both internationally and in the U.S., where a definition created in Europe in 2005 was adopted by an Israel partisan in the State Department in 2010. This definition is now called “the State Department definition” of antisemitism. It is this version that the current law would apply to U.S. campuses. (For more information see this.) Stellar ratings and an apology weren’t enough to mitigate Roseanne Barr’s racist comments, and now ABC is pulling the plug on “Roseanne.” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey says the network has decided to cancel the “Roseanne” reboot.
Dungey said in a statement to CBS News, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.” In 2016, Dungey made headlines when she became the first African-American to run the entertainment division of a major broadcast television network. Transgender people are being encouraged to join the clergy in new Church of England guidance on “honouring LGBT+ people”, aimed at fighting the church’s reputation as “homophobic”.
Claiming young people are put off by “the perception that the Church is homophobic and transphobic”, church leaders said it is vital to challenge this with celebration of the “great contribution” sexual minorities have made to church life, and for outreach “within the LGBT+ community more broadly”. Is it dangerous to speak Spanish in public in Trump’s America? Well, sí! Just this month, we’ve seen a lawyer threaten to call ICE after he overheard people in a restaurant in Manhattan speak in Spanish, and a Border Patrol agent in Montana detain two Mexican-American women for 40 minutes because he heard the bilingual women chatting en español, because the language “is very unheard of up here,” according to la migra man. The Kay County Detention Center is the subject of the accusations, according to a reportfrom Oklahoma’s Fox 25 News, which noted that the jail is being accused of a number of abuses. “If the money’s there for America to fight endless wars for Israel, you’d think the money would be there to take care of their own?”

“The notion that foreign wars and entanglements are wrong still emanates from a sparsely populated philosophical quarter that has no majority presence in the academy of the government media-complex. It is a true voice in the wilderness. That voice has one signature message: you cannot thank veterans for your freedom because they have actively done nothing more than endanger its very existence. Congress is ordering the Pentagon to immediately begin construction of space-based missile interceptors to counter increasing threats from North Korea, Iran, and other countries with advanced missile technology, according to new legislation viewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
The space-based interceptor program—a plan for the United States to deploy satellites into space capable of destroying ballistic missiles before they even take flight—has been on ice for years due to repeated delays by the Pentagon. I’d like to share that I just watched a quality series on YouTube for free. You might have seen it already but I just found it. “Cobra Kai.” It’s The Karate Kid story continued after 30 years. I was excited, just for nostalgia reason since that film affected me a lot in many positive ways. Anyhow, long story short, I believe there are 10 episodes, each under half an hour. There will be a season two, but not ’till 2019.
I will say I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it starts out with a little bad acting, but it improves as it progresses. And yes, it’s a bit sophomoric at first and not without a a few liberal tinges, but over all, and predominately, it is about teaching kids to fight, to stand up for themselves and not back down. I’m surprised they got away with some of the things they did. In snowflake reality these aggressions would land one in jail.
