The Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

America, you officially have a debt problem, and I am not just talking about the national debt.  Consumer bankruptcies are surging, corporate debt has doubled since the last financial crisis, state and local government debt loads have never been higher, and the federal government has been adding more than a trillion dollars a year to the federal debt ever since Barack Obama entered the White House.  We have been on the greatest debt binge in human history, and it has enabled us to enjoy our ridiculously high standard of living for far longer than we deserved.  Many of us have been sounding the alarm about our debt problem for a very long time, but now even the mainstream news is freaking out about it.  I have a feeling that they just want something else to hammer President Trump over the head with, but they are actually speaking the truth when they say that we are facing an unprecedented debt crisis.   Continue reading “Bankrupt America: Bankruptcy Soars As The Country Grapples With An Unprecedented Debt Problem”

A new trend on Instagram has thousands of teens using thread pages to share advice. But experts warn that the tips given on these pages could do more harm than good.

Over the past year, Instagram has been taken over by a trend known as “thread” accounts. The owners of these accounts post about things like skin care, beauty tips, weight loss, and mental health, and have racked up hundreds of thousands of followers. They’ve become mini content empires all their own, and earn thousands of dollars in ad revenue.   Continue reading “These Teens Are Making Thousands Of Dollars Promoting Risky DIY “Self-Care” Tips”

Freedom of the press may be guaranteed in the Constitution. But a plurality of Republicans want to give President Trump the authority to close down certain news outlets, according to a new public opinion survey conducted by Ipsos and provided exclusively to The Daily Beast.

The findings present a sobering picture for the fourth estate, with respondents showing diminished trust in the media and increased support for punitive measures against its members. They also illustrate the extent to which Trump’s anti-press drumbeat has shaped public opinion about the role the media plays in covering his administration. School shootings in the United States have become so ubiquitous that while legislators continue to try to “ban guns” – the effect of which has resulted in no meaningful legislation and seemingly no prevention of incidence –insurance companies like McGowan Program Administrators are stumbling onto an unfortunate realization: school shooting insurance is necessary and in demand. They have written over 300 of these policies already.   Continue reading “School-Shooting Insurance Is A Real Thing – And Its On the Rise”

Is Donald Trump’s administration really Donald Trump‘s administration? Was the Obama administration really the Obama administration? Was the Bush administration really the Bush administration? The answer by now should be an obvious ‘no’, as so many examples abound where corporate dominance influences and controls the political will of their puppets. Yes, this includes Donald Trump, even though he’s not an insider the same way the Bushes, the Clintons and Obama were.   Continue reading “The Trump Administration Just Lifted The Ban On Bee Killing Pesticides & GMO’s”

HOMEMADE AND DEADLY:
Craft Production of Small Arms in Nigeria by Authors Mathias Nowak and André Gsell, June of 2018, 19 pages.

This remarkable briefing paper provides a fascinating look into the underground production of personal firearms in Nigeria.  It shows a basic limitation of legal gun control.  Nigeria has had extensive, strict, legal limitations on the ownership and manufacture of firearms since 1959. To illustrate the draconian nature of these legal controls, repairing of firearms, without a government license to do so, has a legal penalty of a minimum of 10 years in prison.   Continue reading “Review: Homemade and Deadly (Small Arms Survey)”

WASHINGTON — President Trump has become the third president to renew a post-9/11 emergency proclamation, stretching what was supposed to be a temporary state of national emergency after the 2001 terror attacks into its 17th year.

But the ongoing effects of that perpetual emergency aren’t immediately clear, because the executive branch has ignored a law requiring it to report to Congress every six months on how much the president has spent under those extraordinary powers, USA TODAY has found.    Continue reading “A permanent emergency: Trump becomes third president to renew extraordinary post-9/11 powers”

The Avtomat Kalashnikova: a weapon that should require no introduction to anyone anywhere in the world. Ubiquitous with warlords, guerrillas, communism, and underground capitalism, its either met with praise by its users or scorn by those on the business end of it. Full of rumors, myths, and legends, it is a weapon that is seldom understood by most in the armchair and cosplay crowd, but in the business of real-world killing, the AK is unparalleled as the small arm of choice. Why? Because it works. That’s why.   Continue reading “Venezuela’s Kalashnikov Factory to be at Full Capacity in 2019”

Maybe it was when Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would respond to flaming kites from Gaza with an “iron fist.” Or maybe when 13 senators bucked the Israel lobby to call for an easing of the siege on Gaza. Or maybe when five young American Jewish women walked off their “Birthright” trip saying they needed to see the occupation.

Or maybe it was the election in a New York Democratic congressional primary of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even after she described Israel’s actions in Gaza as a “massacre.” Or maybe it was the two Israeli government ministers who issued statements justifying the deportation of an American who supports boycott against Israel, with one minister saying, “This is a Jew who tried to abuse this fact.”  Continue reading “Hasbara is dead”
