Authorities search for suspect in Kansas-Missouri mass killing

Authorities searched on Tuesday for a suspect after five people were killed in Kansas and Missouri.

Authorities in Missouri searched for suspect Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino, 40, near where his truck was found, officials said. He may be armed with an AK-47, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

When they arrived, officers found three men in their early 30s apparently shot to death, according to police.

A fourth man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol found the pickup of suspect abandoned on a highway in Montgomery County, Missouri, about 170 miles east of Kansas City, Kansas, at about 7:30 a.m. CST on Tuesday, officials said.

A fifth victim, a 49-year-old man, was killed in New Florence, Missouri, near where Serrano-Vitorino’s truck was found. Serrano-Vitorino is also a suspect in this killing, Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain John Hotz said.

The victims were not immediately identified, pending identification and family notification.
