A major sporting goods retailer has pulled all guns from its store nearest to Newtown, Conn., according to a report on CNN.com.
Twenty children and six staff members were fatally shot Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown by a 20-year-old man who then took his own life.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has also suspended sales of certain semi-automatic weapons from all its stores across the country.
No guns will be available for purchase at the chain’s location in the Danbury Fair Mall, which is about 13 miles west of the school.
Dick’s said its decision was reached out of respect for the victims and their families “during this time of national mourning,” it said in a statement.
It did not say how long its ban on gun sales will last. There are 511 Dick’s locations in 44 states, according the company website.

Are they also removing anti-depressive medications from the shelves of the local pharmacies?
Willingly or by force?
I always hated Dick’s. The name of their store always suited them and their employees attitudes. No loss for me there.
