Do We Live in a Police State? | Ron Paul

Published on Jan 24, 2014 by misesmedia

Recorded at the Mises Circle Southwest Regional in Houston, 18 January 2014. Includes an introduction by Jeff Deist.

In the modern United States, federal laws are now so numerous and written so broadly and vaguely, that it is nearly impossible to make it through the day without breaking at least one of them. And through it all, an enormous government apparatus of prisons, prosecutors, police, and bureaucrats remains well-funded, powerful, and nearly impossible to oppose in court.

Music by Kevin MacLeod.

  1. “….it is nearly impossible to make it through the day without breaking at least one of them.” (laws)

That’s the idea. We’re all guilty of something, but the laws are only enforced against “enemies of the state”, and the general knowledge of this fact silences most dissent. We definitely ARE living in a police state, and arbitrary enforcement of laws is the proof of that fact.

It’s all about silencing you, because if people started talking they would discover that they all share the same anger against the same enemy. That would lead to the unity and organizing of dissenters, and that’s their biggest nightmare, because they have NO WAY of defending themselves against a united population. They only maintain power by keeping people divided, and keeping you silent is crucial to that goal. DON’T BE SILENT.

It’s your civic duty to keep yourself informed as to the workings of our government, and to discuss this with your neighbors. Remind people of this fact when they avoid political discussion. It cannot be a “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” if the people are ignoring their government, and refusing to become involved.

There’s no more time for apathy, and no more time for you to tolerate apathy on the part of others. If they’re not part of the solution, they’re part of the problem, and it’s time for them to pick a side, and get on it.

Either you stand for freedom, the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and our great republic, or you’re a commie traitor that’s helping to usher in the tyranny. There’s no middle ground. Please explain this to people.

    1. I thought I liked Dr. Paul once. I don’t have any trust in him any longer. Everything you just said has far more substance and carries so much more weight than any of the puppets on the hill. I have to spend time with clients for sometimes long periods and I always make sure we get to talking about REALITY and politics, not the phony politics in the “news”. Managed to open some eyes on occasion. It’s a start anyway and I’ll continue to do so because I am part of the solution!

  2. We live in a police state. We might reconsider ‘articles of confederation’ as the constitution (not bill of rights) needs some retooling.
The rothschild agent and khazar crypto-‘jew’ hamilton was the primary culprit
in federalizing america into a corporation for rothschild.

Watching wailing wall paul (the son) in israel meant the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Regardless, ron paul is a supporter of usury…and that did it for me. Support usury and you wont get my support whatsoever.

Anthony Migchels is doing a good job of analyzing the monetary situation and trying to find good solutions.

Let’s forget about Ron Paul. It’s time to move on.

“Even much worse were his policies. He’s a globalist, supporting all sorts of ‘free trade’ agreements, resulting in the outsourcing of the US manufacturing base. Lest we forget: “There’s nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency” (Paul in Congress, 2001).”
