A trainee Sheriff’s Deputy posted a threatening Facebook message aimed at Cop Block, an organization which advocates filming police officers, in which the soon to be cop said that protesters should be exterminated in “gas chambers” and that he would beat them up “just for the sheer joy of it.”
“While its rare that we receive direct death treats, they must be taken seriously, especially when they come from someone with military training and is about to become a Law enforcement agent / Sheriff,” states a post on the official CopBlock Facebook page.
According to CopBlock, the threats were made by Darren Redding, a former U.S. Marine and a current cadet in training with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department. Redding’s Facebook page has now been deleted, but the messages sent to CopBlock appear at the end of this article.
“If I had my way, there would be another holocaust with camps and gas chambers full of fucking cunt scabs like you, I hope you die,” stated Redding, adding, “I hope some cop beats your ass next time you’re “protesting” or filming them or whatever. In fact I’m about to start the training academy for the washoe county sheriffs dept in reno, Nevada and I can’t wait to deal with punk ass bitches like you. I would beat your fucking ass just for the sheer joy of it.”
“If you were a law abiding citizen you wouldn’t have any problem with 5-0, but something tells me you were probably being a jackass towards a police officer and you got what was coming to you, and that inspired you to make a page giving a bad name to all law enforcement,” stated Redding, complaining about one of Cop Block’s posts.
Cop Block responded to the threats by inviting people to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and suggest that they refrain from hiring someone who has expressed a desire to see people who exercise their rights gassed in concentration camps.
Hundreds of other Facebook users responded in the comments section, with one former US Army Ranger stating that Redding should not be allowed to become a police officer.
“The numbers of the sheriff’s office where he plans to apply should be give out as well as emails for everyone to write to so that this does not just fall through the cracks and be forgotten about. The last thing we need is another out of control officer that will take a dump on people’s rights (or worse),” remarked Kevin Warrick.
While the vast majority of police officers do not espouse such extreme views, this is another example of how a minority of law enforcement personnel, especially those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, are now entering the police force with total hostility towards the American people and complete contempt for the bill of rights.

It is my understanding that your organization is considering hiring a man identified as Darren Redding…and that Mr. Redding would be employed as a law enforcement officer. It has come to our attention that Mr. Redding has allegedly admitted to wanting to illegally “beat people’s ass”..and that he would like to see American protesters placed in “gas chambers”…?
It is my understanding that Mr. Redding made his comments on a Facebook page that has now been removed…?

I almost posted this, but I decided not to just in case it became viral, and then turned out his account was hacked.
If he really did make these threats then he is definitely a psychopath and needs to be locked up immediately. But as NC pointed out, he is exactly the type they want on the streets.
By the way, if the NSA is spying on everyone’s communications, they dropped the ball on this one!
I would love to see his military record and who he pissed off. I cant see a man like that taking orders for sure.
While probably not the norm, his opinions as posted are probably not an isolated example, either. When you get a large group in a situation like training, or any other isolated activity, members succumb to “group think” where extreme opinions become the norm. The psychology is well known, and variations are used in basic training, cults, multi level marketing, sports, etc.
Instead of looking at this as a single person issue, look at it as the canary in the coal mine. He may be the one guy that went too far and actually posted it, I’m sure it reflects on what he heard from other trainees in his class, and possibly some of the instructors. He may have gone overboard with how far he expressed it, but even so, the trend is disturbing.

Lets not single out the police. They are just the tail end of the whole system.
If the police are doing it, then it’s because the brass are telling them to. If the brass are telling them to, it’s because the prosecutors are pushing those cases. If the prosecutors are pushing those cases, it’s because the Judges are convicting on those. If the Judges are allowing convictions, it’s because the laws are written to allow them. If the laws are written that way, look at the legislatures. If the legislatures write laws that way, and get a majority to pass them, then it’s an indication that the entire system is broken.
The police are just the enforcement arm of a corrupt system. And if you think it’s bad now, wait a few more years when the old school police that understood what “Protect and Serve” really means are all retired out, and replaced with paramilitary trained enforcers.
All of this is why maintaining the Constitutional independence of the Sheriffs is becoming even more important.

Well, after the arrests come the hangings. But generally they don’t go quietly into custody, so yes, your idea will probably come into play well before mine. lol
And why is your attitude any different than that cop that posted. You both are suffering from the US versus THEM train of thought. Most cops are just the guy next door who’s kids go to school and play with your kids. In any real SHTF situation, they’re going to be in the same boat as you, and will have the same reactions/motivations. That’s why the real danger is the Federal level groups like the TSA. When you are in your own neighborhood you think about things differently than if you are being deployed into a town where you have never been and don’t know anybody. Sure there are bad cops. And there’s way too many of them getting away with stuff they shouldn’t.

Maybe the difference is that I’m from an eastern state where the “good old boy” network isn’t as entrenched. I own my own business and talk to a lot of cops who are pretty open about their disgust at the way things are going, and are extremely vocal about 2nd amendment issues, gun confiscation, and the trend toward federalization of local agencies. I also see a lot of military in the area, and with Obama firing generals who may be opposed to firing on American citizens, there is a growing trend for the boots on the ground guys that they WILL NOT obey any orders to do so, and a STRONG anti-DHS sentiment.
