Hey NC, it was Fourth of July weekend. Do you see anyone else on that river besides us? People have been bitten by Muskys on the river with flesh tearing results. So, all you people beware, the Musky will get you if you go out on the river! 😆 Stay away for your own life’s sake! lol
Notice how she keeps that rod tip up? She was able to bring a couple smallmouth bass in and grandpa showed her what “Catch and Release” is with the undersized fish. No walleye in the skillet that night, there’s another day though. It was more a day on the sandbar with a little fishing on the side.
We got 6 inches of rain about 40 miles upstream on Monday and that sandbar is underwater now and we’re in a flood stage.. It’ll be down for the weekend and every sandbar will be swept clean again, a new layer in the gravel bars for rock hunting, and the Bald eagles will have their feast on the suckers that wander into the shallows.
With the current flooding this week Joe (Jstp), the sandbar sculptors are hard at work remodeling sandbars such as the one we fished from last weekend. Everything we had fit in the boat in one load and yes, I’m lucky they didn’t throw in a commode. lol
Glad to know you didn’t have any “bylaw” cops or sharks to end your trip early, Millard. 😉 lol
