Israel Destroys Iranian Missiles In Syrian Airport Warehouse

Late last night there were reports that Israel carried out an air strike in Syria. Today, the word is they targeted Iranian missiles being sent to Hezbollah. The missiles were warehoused at a Syrian airport:

It was the second time in four months that Israel has carried out an attack in Syria intended to disrupt the pipeline of weapons that runs from there to Hezbollah. And the raid highlighted the mounting stakes for Hezbollah and Israel as Syria becomes more chaotic.

Iran and Hezbollah have both backed President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian civil war, now in its third year. But as fighting in Syria escalates, they also have a powerful interest in expediting the delivery of advanced weapons to Hezbollah in case Mr. Assad loses his grip on power and Syria ceases to be an effective channel for funneling weapons from Iran.

The missiles that were the target of the Israeli raid had been shipped from Iran and were being stored in a warehouse at Damascus International Airport when they were struck, according to an American official.

Cue the strongly worded letter from the United Nations in 3…2…1…

    1. Please clarify, don’t leave us just hanging (figure of speech, the real hanging we’ll save for the traitors).

      1. from what I’ve been reading this ‘second attack’ appears to be a rehashing of a ‘second attack’ from a few days ago, the first being the convoy….and they DON’T KNOW exactly what building was hit – or what was in it….therefore these most recent reports would classify as propaganda….saber rattling over already reported events….slow news day?

        1. No, actually this is a follow-up story to one I posted yesterday with a video of the explosion.

SOMETHING got blown up over there. What it was is still debatable, but since I wasn’t there when it happened, this is all I’ve seen to go on so far, whether conjecture or otherwise.

          1. I’m just saying I’ve been following events there for some time, and the more recent ‘second’ bombing reads just like the first ‘second’…right down to the warehouse with the stipulation of the first Israeli bombing being the convoy

            just saying….but I did check several ‘reports’…

          2. here’s another report just in

Powerful explosions struck the outskirts of Damascus early on Sunday, sending columns of fire into the night sky, and Syrian state television said Israeli rockets had struck a military facility just north of the capital.

Israel declined to comment on the attack, but the blasts occurred a day after an Israeli official said his country had carried out an air strike targeting a consignment of missiles in Syria intended for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

**One of the sites hit on Sunday, the Jamraya military research center, was also targeted by Israel in January. (MAYBE THIS IS IT)

“The new Israeli attack is an attempt to raise the morale of the WESTERN BACKED terrorist groups which have been reeling from strikes by our noble army,” Syrian television said, referring to recent offensives by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against rebels.

          3. and here’s another…..this is why it gets so confusing

(CNN) – (speaking for ‘Syrian TV??)

Syria accused Israel of firing rockets into the Damascus suburb of Jamraya on Sunday, striking a “scientific research center,” Syrian state TV reported.

It is the second Syrian claim this year of a strike against what observers have described as a government defense research facility, and it comes one day after U.S. officials first told CNN that the United States believes Israel carried out an airstrike against Syria.

Israel Defense Forces declined to comment on the Syrian TV report. “We do not comment on these reports at all,” an IDF spokesperson said.

The Syrian news report claimed the rocket attack on the research center aided rebels, who have been battling government forces in the region.

In late January, reports surfaced that Israeli warplanes targeted the research facility. The Syrian government has said the airstrike killed two workers and injured five others.

A U.S. official told CNN at the time the Syrian claims were false. The official said Israeli fighter jets targeted a Syrian government convoy carrying surface-to-air missiles bound for the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon. Syria denied there were such shipments.

      2. and here’s some more examples (at least I hope they’re just confusion)

  1. Looks like the bankster gangsters, desperate to keep their stolen wealth obtained thru their fraudulent fiat money and central banks, are now going to start a world war.

From videos available, it looks like Israel used a mini-nuke on Damascus.

Is that a red line, OBOMBA?

    1. We know they’ve been dying (not literally, wishful thinking) to use one of those things again.

      Escalation forthcoming, no doubt.
