Jade Helm 15: 32 percent of Republicans think feds trying to take over Texas

The Pentagon has done its best to assure Texans the Jade Helm military operations in the state are nothing more than a training exercise. It turns out not only are those in the Lone Star State not convinced, neither are a lot of people nationwide.

A poll by Public Policy Polling released today found that 32 percent of GOP primary voters nationwide believe the military operations are an effort by the federal government to take over Texas. Forty percent dismissed that notion; 28 percent weren’t sure.

The poll results are just the latest in the long strange saga of Jade Helm.

The controversy started when the government announced it would conduct a multi-state special forces training operation this summer. Planning documents for the operation that were leaked online identified Texas and several other states as “hostile territory” and conspiracy theorists took to social media with the claim the operation was the first step towards martial law in the state.

Then, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced the Texas State Guard would monitor the U.S. military’s movements in the state.

The White House has repeatedly denied the operation is anything other than a training exercise.

“Operation Jade Helm poses no threat to any American’s civil liberties,” Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman said. “Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans — by, specifically, American special forces personnel.”

  1. Hello ALL GOOD PEOPLE OF TRENCHES AND PAUL.

I am in Texas located in Houston.I keep all news stories documented and have tons of links But If you wonderful people have kept copies of the news reports on here The kind and wonderful wizard of Trenches has posted them in his news reports.

If I hear and see anything I will keep posting. I have a friend who is another ham radio operator who is going out of town for a few days and I asked him to take a picture or 2 of the Walmart In Livingston Tx where HUMVEE’S were parked.

There are also a group of ham radio operators who get on HF and tell things about the latest happenings they get pretty down on Obama and his people and they talk about new things they find out and some histories.

The Radio Frequency is 3,840 LSB at 8 AM central time sometimes a little before.Course we all know the OBAMA ADM does not like FREEDOM of anything especially on the Internet and radios and TV for those who take a stand on Freedom from people committed to taking over the USA by ISLAM.

    Mark

    1. taken over by islam? WE HAVE NEVER LEARNED IN THIS COUNTRY THAT WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN “TAKEN OVER” BY TALMUDIC JUDAISM………..IN OTHER WORDS……COMMUNISM

  2. The U.S. military shouldn’t be doing things like this on U.S. soil. It’s unconstitutional, that’s the point.

That being said, when Rick Perry was governor and GW Bush was president, the military was doing similar exercises in Texas and no one said anything. So a lot of this hype is because Obama is president.

Also, does it make any sense that the federal government is going to “take over Texas”? Isn’t Texas already PART OF the United States? That part makes no sense to me. Saying “take over Texas” is like assuming Texas isn’t part of the United States.

Again: the part I’m against is the military doing things like this on U.S. soil in the first place, and getting us used to seeing military on our streets, which really pisses me off as well as being unconstitutional.

I think the military/Pentagon is one of the roots of ALL our problems. It’s just a proxy for super-wealthy families to acquire more wealth and control around the world. All the while telling DUMB IDIOT CANNON FODDER USELESS EATERS they’re “fighting for our freedom”.
