January 15th: 70 Nations Will Meet At The Israeli-Palestinian Peace Summit

World Events and the Bible

Much fear and hype is being placed around a Peace Summit that will take place on January 15th. This summit will feature 70 nations from around the globe who will meet in Paris, France to discuss the issue of a two state solution between Israel and the Palestinians. This certainly is not an unprecedented event, these so-called meetings of peace have been taking place for years now and as Christians we understand there will be no peace until our Lord and Savior returns (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

Further, in late July of 2013 news broke and Israeli outrage ensued that the European Union essentially redrew the borders of Israel back to 1949 in a move that would see trade restrictions imposed on areas outside of the original United Nations imposed borders of Israel. These borders were the founding boundaries of Israel, but Israel went to war in 1967 and expanded their borders essentially breaking the United Nations treaty that founded the nation to begin with. Now who I would ask is the law-breaker here?

Nonetheless, just weeks after that article Israel was ready to give up land in exchange for a two state solution with the Palestinians. The United Nations just a year or two ago had a vote on a two state solution which was voted down. So we are not facing an unprecedented event on January 15th.

The truth of the matter is many Christians get wrapped up into this whole God’s Chosen people myth concerning Israel and they let it blind their reality of the world. This not only blinds their reality, but keeps them in the dark concerning the true history of True Israel and the evils that take place in our world all over a lie.

So what exactly will these 70 nations be discussing on January 15th? The Times of Israel helps explain, France’s new envoy to Israel said two weeks ago the conference would,

Not contain any novel ideas on how to solve the Middle East conflict, but is mainly intended to prevent the issue from disappearing amid other global crises.

What we propose is nothing new but [we are] trying to keep the subject on the agenda and not letting it down because there are other crises in the world,” Ambassador Hélène Le Gal said. “We continue to propose things and it’s always in a very good spirit toward Israel.”

Nothing new is going to happen on January 15th. There will be no division of Israel. It is also worth noting; neither Israel nor the Palestinians will have representatives at this meeting. However, France will invite Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Paris after the “summit” to update them on the outcome of the discussions. So how can one expect any division or official decrees to be handed down when representatives of Israel and the Palistinians are not present?

So let us all relax and use common sense, then let us spend some time in God’s Word where we can learn the truth not only concerning His Word, but learn truths of this world.

  1. Yes, it sounds nice, but unfortunately, unless all 70 nations support the genocide of the Palestinian people, Israel will ignore them and continue their slaughter.
