Angela Brown was charged with child endangerment and permitting a child to be present when possessing a controlled substance back on June 19.
Brown was giving her 15-year-old son Trey cannabis oil to treat his pain and seizures, which are due to a brain injury from 2011.
The Browns say an ER doctor suggested the Madison, Minn., family try medical marijuana, so they went to Boulder, Colo., and brought back some cannabis oil (video below).
“Trey would describe it as reducing the pressure in his head. He didn’t have the pressure anymore and his muscles would calm down,” Brown told KARE 11. “Everything was great until I opened my mouth to the wrong person and I got turned in. And family services questioned my son at school, the cops came to my workplace.”
Brown appears to be going to trial and could face two years in prison and a $6,000 fine if convicted, noted WCTrib.com.
Ironically, a new Minnesota law will allow medical marijuana use in 2015. In another twist, the new Minnesota law may not cover the type of cannabis oil that Brown has successfully used to treat her son.
The Brown family wants to move to Colorado to access medical marijuana for their child, but can’t move until Brown’s case is decided.
Brown’s defense attorney Michael Hughes told a judge on Monday that Brown would not offer a guilty plea as part of a settlement offer.
About 20 supporters of Brown held signs outside a Montevideo, Minn., courthouse on Monday, which read “Our Pains Are Real,’’ “Go After Real Criminals’’ and “Plants Heal.’’
There is a GoFundMe page set up to accept donations for Brown’s legal bills.

Good job Angel. 🙂
Despite Minnesota being a liberal state of see-and-say little nazis, I wish Angela Brown the best and a not guilty verdict based on no victim, no crime.
