Newspaper Writer in CT Calls for the 100,000 Residents Who Refused to Register their Guns to be Arrested

writer for newspaper wants ct gun owners to be arrested for refusing to register gunsGuns and Freedom – by Jonathan S.

Connecticut anti-gun politicians have a problem.  After passing laws last year that require every gun owner who has a “high capacity” magazine or so called “assault weapon” to register those items with the state many refused to do so.

It has been estimated that anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 gun owners refused to register their guns with their anti-gun government and many think those numbers could even be higher.  This mass refusal to obey unconstitutional gun laws has surprised Connecticut officials.  Perhaps they were expecting law abiding gun owners to willingly forfeit their rights while criminals did whatever they wanted.

There have been varying opinions on why so many have refused to register their firearms.  Some say it is because of a mass revolt and others blame it on ignorance, since some may not know the law even went into effect.

Either way, one editorial writer for the Hartford Courant is calling for these CT gun owners to be hunted down and arrested for breaking the new law.

Although willful noncompliance with the law is doubtless a major issue, it’s possible that many gun owners are unaware of their obligation to register military-style assault weapons and would do so if given another chance.

But the bottom line is that the state must try to enforce the law. Authorities should use the background check database as a way to find assault weapon purchasers who might not have registered those guns in compliance with the new law.

A Class D felony calls for a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Even much lesser penalties or probation would mar a heretofore clean record and could adversely affect, say, the ability to have a pistol permit.

If you want to disobey the law, you should be prepared to face the consequences.

I would add to this writer’s comments, if you want to pass unconstitutional laws you should be prepared to face the consequences as well.  You can be sure that gun owners in CT will either be voting against these anti-gun politicians or moving out of the so called “constitution state”.

    1. Willful noncompliance?? Law abiding citizens do not have to comply. They have not broken the law. There is not a state or federal entity that can write or enforce any unconstitutional legislation.
There is no difference between a bolt action rifle and the proclaimed assault rifle.
A single bullet projecting from either is the same.
So lets protect law abiding, tax paying, American citizens from criminals with unregistered guns that cause hurt to our communities.
Sense?? Does that make sense?? Common sense 101 for the brain dead….

  1. “It has been estimated that anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 gun owners refused to register their guns ” That’s a hell of an estimate wouldn’t you say?

That statement all on its own ,tells me they have no F-ing clue who has what. And that fact is across this entire country..Never surrender, never register, never back down

they want us all to be compliant to their illegal law.. they have no idea who has what, and that fact alone is scaring the Sh^t right out of them..never give in.. they have no clue who to arrest and on what charges? any of the so called charges would be null in void due to the fact this crap isn’t a law.

wake up everyone.. they don’t know what you have, don’t be a fool and go and tell them. let Civil Disobedience be the order of the day, and for the rest of our lives as long as this group of facists thinks they are runing the show.

    Give them NOTHING!

  2. First, the writer should be noted and remembered.

Second…”up to 5 years”, and “If you want to disobey the law, you should be prepared to face the consequences.”

Let me explain about ‘law’ and ‘consequences’.

Many years ago, my sister arrived at work to police and Do Not Cross barriers at a small, mom and pop retail clothing store.

The owner’s had been tied to chairs, brutally beaten with pipes, and robbed. The wife died, the husband in a coma, both in their 60’s.

Turns out, one of my sister’s work associates set it up, let 2 friends in the back after closing, and did the deed.

Both ‘accomplices’ were arrested quickly, and the 3rd – the leader – was arrested in Florida, trying to pawn the woman’s wedding ring.

When the man awoke, he found his wife gone, and ‘let go’ and died.

“be prepared to face the consequences.” ?

The first 2 got 3 years, 1 year served each, the one doing the beatings, 7, pleaded down, and served 2 1/2.

Ever wonder why cops do basically nothing else other than pull people over and write tickets? Why jaywalking tickets are up 800%? Why they want otherwise law-abiding citizens to ‘register’ their weapons?

Police and officials do NOT like messing with criminals. It’s dangerous, and THERE IS NO PROFIT IN IT.

And remember; Cops are murdering people WHO SIMPLY OPENED THEIR DOORS. Exercise caution.

As ‘3%’er Mike Vanderboegh says to police; “You are NOT the enemy – unless you choose to be”.

  3. When they are all arrested, they ask for a public defender and a jury trial. That will tie up the courts for about 50 years

    1. 🙂 just think about that for a minute or two. What fun for the system and would certainly bankrupt the state.
