The union met with employees on Monday afternoon.

US energy giant Chevron is interested in taking a stake in Ukraine’s natural gas pipeline network, which the country is opening to Western investors, Russian media reported Monday.

A road rage incident could put the top law enforcement officer in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico behind bars. Federal prosecutors on Friday charged Sheriff Thomas R. Rodella with civil rights violations, brandishing a firearm and falsifying documents related to a March 11 traffic stop of Michael Tafoya on Highway 399.
According to the federal complaint, Sheriff Rodella and his son, Thomas R. Rodella Jr, were speeding in a personal Jeep Wrangler SUV when they approached Tafoya’s white sedan, which was observing the 35 MPH speed limit. Rodella tailgated the sedan, and Tafoya tapped the brakes, infuriating Rodella. Eventually, Tafoya pulled to the side so Rodella could pass. Seriously, the United States Army released a new Army manual: U.S. Army Techniques Publication 3-39.33: Civil Disturbances. It was originally published April 21, 2014 but was not released publicly until now. It might have been made public as part of an intimidation tactic to prevent people from attending protests. BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi and Kurdish forces recaptured Iraq’s largest dam from Islamic militants Monday following dozens of U.S. airstrikes, President Barack Obama said, in the first major defeat for the extremists since they swept across the country this summer.
Militants from the Islamic State group had seized the Mosul Dam on Aug. 7, giving them access and control of enormous power and water reserves and threatening to deny those resources to much of Iraq. Iraqi forces suffered a string of humiliating defeats at the hands of the Islamic State as the extremists took over large parts of northern and western Iraq and sent religious minorities fleeing. As tensions continue to mount in Ferguson, police officers were captured on video threatening to shoot one journalist and mace another. Other reporters allege they were arrested while covering the protests.
Shortly before midnight Sunday, a police officer was recorded on video giving a reporter a verbal dressing down for flashing a light from a video camera into the officer’s face.

“Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot and killed Saturday by a police officer in Ferguson. The circumstances of the death are in dispute. Mr. Brown and a friend were walking home from a convenience store in the middle of the night when witnesses say they were stopped by an officer for walking in the middle of the street. They say that Mr. Brown’s hands were in the air when several shots were fired. Texas Governor Rick Perry, a potential Republican Presidential candidate in 2016, has announced that he will fight allegations of power abuse against him, calling the accusations a political move that rips away the very fabric of the US constitution.
“This indictment amounts to nothing more than an abuse of power and I cannot, and I will not allow that to happen,” Perry said in Austin, Texas, adding that he stands by his use of the veto power which ended in charges being laid against him.
“We don’t settle political differences with indictments in this country.
