Piers Morgan: Now I See U.S. Government Tyranny

Is British CNN host Piers Morgan finally admitting gun advocates have a point when they say the Second Amendment is to protect citizens from tyrannical government?

Morgan has made headlines for many months as he loudly trumpeted the cause of gun control, even to the detriment of his shows ratings.

Since the Sandy Hook massacre last year – in which Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 students and six adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. – Morgan has made advocating for gun-control legislation a frequent topic of his program, clashing with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich or rocker and National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent, for example, and calling Gun Owners of America’s Larry Pratt “an unbelievably stupid man” for disagreeing with him.

Following reports of his vitriolic attacks, a petition was started on the White House “We the People” website demanding Morgan be deported back to England – and it now has more than 109,000 signatures.

As WND reported, despite his avid criticism of guns, Morgan protects his own personal property with signs warning that it is guarded by “Armed Response Security Systems,” according to a recent investigation by self-described “guerrilla journalist” James O’Keefe.

And on March 11, Morgan insisted that, “people need the nanny state occasionally.”

Now – after learning of the Obama administration’s involvement in the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups and its secret seizure of Associated Press phone records – the CNN host admitted to guest Penn Jillette that perhaps gun advocates were right about creeping tyranny after all:

“I’ve had some of the pro-gun lobbyists on here, saying to me, ‘Well, the reason we need to be armed is because of tyranny from our own government,’ and I’ve always laughed at them,” Morgan said. “I said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous! Your government won’t turn itself on you. …

“But, actually, this is vaguely tyrannical behavior by the American government.”

He continued, “I think what the IRS did is bordering on tyrannical behavior. I think what the Department of Justice has done to the AP is bordering on tyrannical behavior.”

Jillette agreed with Morgan, stating, “There’s no doubt about that. Once you use the word ‘bordering,’ that’s true.

“I also think that it shows you that how much we can trust the government and just sit back– which is not very much at all. We have to be ever vigilant.”

  1. It’s not how you fall – but, how you stand up.

I’m not going to be watching much of CNN anymore – but, you have to respect a man when he stands up and says (at least borders on admitting) he was wrong.

The sad part is that it looks like there may be more emerging facts that will solidly convince Mr Morgan that the Government has acted Tyrannical.

America may be stumbling, but we too can stand up again.

  2. Piers awakening? There is hope for him after all. Sometimes it takes a 2×4 upside the head.
    . . .

  3. Oh, now he sees it? BS….he’s trying desperately to get people to listen to him again, or save himself from the rope he has coming for trying to subvert this nation’s constitution.

if he didn’t see the tyranny a month ago he’s a blithering idiot, so there’s no sense in paying him any attention today. He still deserves the hemp rope, whether he “sees it” today or not.

    1. That`s right oldvet. Even if he admits to his mistakes he still has to pay for his mistakes so it is about time time that he needs to be strung up and do his song and dance at the end of a rope.

  4. “Since the Sandy Hook massacre last year – in which Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 students and six adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.”

Just another shill “story” so they can recite the sandyHOAX lie again. Standard propaganda tactic: write what appears to be a story and insert the lie.

Sorry, little writer TROLL for cia disindfo site “wnd”, scores of millions of us KNOW the GD TRUTH…You all are wayyyyyy 2 late.

  5. Piers Morgan is probably defending his own terrible behavior that ended up chasing him out of England. It appears to me that he doesn’t like the press being spied on because he knew how crooked his own journalism was. The guy appears to me to be a psychopath living in denial of his own demons. Mythologically speaking, when demons are repressed, the devil comes out. I’m sure there are more psychological terms for this but this guy is still a fruit cake in my opinion. Do not expect that he has undergone any awakening or that he will change his stance on guns and tyranny. Don’t feed him with any praise or attention, it only makes him grow.

During an appearance on the BBC’s Desert Island Disks in 2009 Piers Morgan admits to presenter Kirsty Young he has knowledge of phone tapping and using “third parties” to get stories. He said: “I make no pretence about the stuff we used to do.”

  6. It seems Chelsea be shilling.

Send us some security camera footage of Sandy Hook please … oh wait there is none I forgot. They train them well at the Tavistock Institute in Merry ole England. Stop hanging out with cowboy Carlos the actor.

  7. I’ve been quite appreciative over the years of Penn’s no nonsense approach to many social issues, religion in particular. Alas, with Bullshit! and now as a shill for a talentless multi-millionaire seeking a pittance from a multi-billionaire (for charity) his credibility has waned with me. Because on Bullshit! along with so many other ‘skeptics’ he parroted the official line on 9/11 and told us Monsanto was looking out for the little guy. (Turns out they were, just looking to squeeze him.)

To me to be skeptical is to be skeptical of everything, not just that which doesn’t directly affect your income. The Bush administration lied hundreds of times in regard to Iraq’s involvement with 9/11. Verified. Yet still, many ‘skeptics’ had no problem believing them when they say another nation was involved. Amazing how late vigilance comes for some people. Hopefully, not too late for all of us.

  8. Come on people. He’s OBVIOUSLY seen the light. He’s one of us now.

I’m SURE he’ll be fighting right along with the rest of us when the revolution starts.

    Oops. Sorry!

My tin foil hat’s on a little too tight today.

  9. I wish people would stop blaming that Lanza kid. He was a dupe. He died the day before Sandy hook. That operation has all the earmarks of pros. The police made so many false statements they should go to jail. I would not be surprised to find out that police did the shooting. The sooner enough people get pissed off and things start to happen the better.

    1. What makes you think he died the day before, Max? According to his friends, he hadn’t been seen or heard from in at least three years. Neither has he left a digital fingerprint on the internet in that length of time.

  10. Our governments have behaved like tyrants or robber-barons of the feudal era ever since the “new Pearl Harbor” … that is 9/11. To suddenly have an epiphany some 12 years after the fact goes a long way to show what a sycophantic, lying psychopath that little limey really is. US-PATRIOT Acts 1+2, The Military Commissions Acts, National Defense Autorisation Act … these are the tools of a fascist dictatorial government that has declared war against its own constituents! I was a long-time leftist, but when I see the democratic party of today (not that it EVER was a true leftist party) there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Bush, the lesser and our “beloved leader” Obama. On the contrary, that Obummer character is way more accomplished in the psychopathic tricks-of-the-trade than the bumbling fool Bush could ever have dreamed of, and that makes him so much more dangerous! The result is, that –– even after Obama has killed more innocent civilians with drone-strikes than Bush did during his whole tenure, after he helped bomb Libya to rubble (based on outrageous lies and fabrications), after he trained, armed, and paid hordes of al-qaida affiliated salafist scum to incite civil war in Syria (also based on lies and now causing unspeakable atrocities and massive civil casualties) just to topple a regime that never harmed the US, after he declared himself “dictator-in-chief” by admitting to keep secret kill-lists (that do carry names of US citizens), after he allowed and then obfuscated state-sponsored attacks like Aurora, Sandy Hook, and Boston (including that insane preview of martial law) –– the idiotic majority of the liberal and left spectrum still continues to defend him against any and all accusations. They still think of him as their savior … and for him they would gladly piss away the very last remaining one of our once-granted civil rights and liberties, the 2nd amendment! The sheer amount of hypocrisy, moral blindness, cowardice, and outright lying among my former political peers makes me wanna puke!
