KIEV, October 28 (RIA Novosti) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s eldest son has made it to the Ukrainian parliament with 64.04 percent of the votes, the country’s Central Election Commission reported Tuesday.
Oleksiy Poroshenko is member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the Ukrainian President’s party. He now becomes Verkhovna Rada member from the single-candidate constituency No.12 from the Vinnytsia Region.
Oleksiy Poroshenko earlier served as Vice Consul for Economic Affairs in the Consulate General of Ukraine in Shanghai.
Early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on Sunday. Ukrainians went to the polls to vote for 423 members of parliament — 225 of them from party lists and 198 in single-candidate constituencies.
