NBC NewsThree people were injured, including a pregnant woman, early Saturday morning after a gunman opened fire into an SUV that broke down along a Chicago expressway, officials said.
Illinois State Police said a 2008 Buick SUV broke down just before 1:30 a.m. on a southbound ramp to 71st Street off of Interstate 94.
While the Buick was waiting for help, a black Dodge Charger with orange stripes pulled up and began to shoot inside the Buick, police said.
The 27-year-old driver of the car was shot four times in his upper extremities while two female passengers in the car, one of them pregnant, were struck several times, police said.
A 19-year-old woman in the back of the car was shot six times in her lower body and a 24-year-old pregnant woman was shot three times in her lower body, police said.
The three victims were taken to John H. Stroger Hospital and Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
A fourth passenger in the front seat of the car was not harmed.
The exit ramp to 71st Street was shut down following shooting but was reopened just before 7 a.m.
The Illinois State Police is asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the ISP Chicago District at (847) 294-4400.

oops, the Chicago gun control laws failed… imagine that….you mean the crooks did not follow the law??? only the law abiding ones did, but they are unarmed…. surely the crooks need to be told verbaly…broadcast over the air waves that Chicago has strict gun control laws and maybe the crooks will disarm and apologize….I am sure if only one more gun control law is passed , that will do it…
Sounds like road-rage to me. If her broken-down SUV blocked up traffic for miles there were probably 100 people who wanted to shoot her, so it’s not surprising that one actually did.
I’m not saying the shooting is justified, only that it should be expected these days when everyone is on a short fuse, and at the end of their rope.
That’s also why a revolution is looking very likely. One big event is going to signal the start of some real ugliness for millions of people who are right now well beyond being pissed off, and looking for an outlet.

I wrote a screen-play back in 04 about the start of a revolution. It was a bunch of like minded people(who didn’t know each other) targeting only the criminals income streams. The people didn’t take out the power because they needed it. Instead they targeted the front door steps of key business offices(to keep employees from wanting to work), wealth transfers(to stop the money), and the families of the secret rulers that live in the shadows(to keep the chain of command from regrouping).
Perhaps the people who ride around shooting up chicago could switch aim and become heros instead of pieces of sh!t.
