Same-Sex Active-Duty Couple Marries At West Point
Two Army captains who met at West Point returned there to be married, in what is believed to be the first same-sex marriage of active-duty personnel at the storied New York military academy.
The New York Times reported Captains Daniel Hall, 30, and Vincent Franchino, 26, both Apache helicopter pilots stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, were married at West Point’s Cadet Chapel on Jan. 13.
E-Verify Doesn’t Prevent Many Companies From Hiring Undocumented Workers
When federal agents raided dozens of 7-Eleven stores across the country earlier this month and arrested 21 workers suspected of being undocumented immigrants, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement director Tom Homan declared that the highly publicized raids were meant to send a message to employers: “If you are found to be breaking the law, you will be held accountable.”
But after all the smoke from the day’s fiery rhetoric cleared, one huge question remained: How did these undocumented immigrants get hired in the first place?

Two Improvised Explosive Devices Go Off At Eagle Ridge Mall In Lake Wales, FL
Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off at Eagle Ridge Mall on Sunday night.
Lake Wales fire crews responded to an alarm call at 451 Eagle Ridge Drive around 5:30 p.m. While en route, the call was changed to a structure fire.
When fire crews arrived at the location, they saw smoke coming from a corridor located next to the mall entrance of JC Penney.
