Ted Visner Arrested, Isabella County Deputies Seize Home

9 and 10 News – by Lynsey Mukomel

An Isabella County man is in jail tonight after refusing to leave the home he was evicted from.

Ted Visner was evicted last month but told the Isabella County court he had no plans to leave.

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department served the eviction on West Fremont Road in Rolland Township earlier today.

The sheriff says a lot of planning had to go into them carrying out the eviction without any problems.

Known to be anti-government, Ted Visner took to social media recently explaining why he refuses to honor the eviction.

“I won’t leave this property without a fight and I will not be evicted from this property and that will lead to my execution quite assuredly,” Visner says in a YouTube video.

Isabella County deputies arrested Ted Visner for trespassing and squatting this afternoon.

The Isabella County Sheriff says they waited for Visner to leave the house to cut the power and arrested him without any problems.

“We actually had a bomb squad come out to make sure there were no booby traps in the home and things like that we wanted to make sure that all of our officers were safe so we took our time and we did it properly,” says Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski.

Sheriff Mioduszewski says Visner’s recent statements against government are why they worked slowly and carefully to serve the eviction.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants… We’re not just facing corruption were facing a foreign occupation,” says Visner, in a YouTube video.

“He has his first amendment rights so even though a lot of his thoughts may not agree with how I see things, there really isn’t much we can do. He was within in the law with a lot of his rhetoric on the social media,” says Mioduszewski.

The sheriff says they’re prepared for when and if Visner makes bail.

“Part of his bond or bail when he does get released from the jail is that he cannot return to this residence. If he does it’s going to be a breaking and entering and we’ll handle that like any other breaking and entering. We’ll put a case together and he’ll be arrested again,” says Mioduszewski.

Visner was supposed to be arraigned earlier today, but he did not cooperate and is now held in contempt.

The court says they will try to arraign him again tomorrow.

Updated: Visner defiant in court, ordered to remain jailed

Morning Sun – by Susan Field

An Isabella County judge on Thursday ordered a defiant Ted Visner to remain jailed for contempt of court after he refused to say his name at a scheduled arraignment for two misdemeanor charges.

Judge William Ervin also ordered one of four people in the courtroom in support of Visner to leave when he refused to stand as directed by the bailiff as the judge approached the bench.

Prior to Ervin telling Visner to state his name for the record, Visner said from the Isabella County Jail via video link to the courtroom that he wants to file an objection.

When Visner told the judge to state his own name, Ervin told him if he did not comply, he would be held in contempt of court and remain in jail on $200,000 cash bond.

  1. By the book Mr. Visner, play it by the book. Non-compliance is all i would give also. He most likely has paid his residence off by a margin, but the interest on the mortgage assures he’ll never get it paid off. That is the boat a lot of us are in.
    Right-On Mr. Visner, Right-On!

  2. “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants… We’re not just facing corruption were facing a foreign occupation,” says Visner, in a YouTube video.”

Obviously wide awake, this one. However…

    “I won’t leave this property without a fight…”

    Apparently that was untrue…

“The Isabella County Sheriff says they waited for Visner to leave the house to cut the power and arrested him without any problems.”

What the hell did he expect?

“… to remain jailed for contempt of court after he refused to say his name at a scheduled arraignment for two misdemeanor charges.”

How do TWO MISDEMEANORS equate to THIS…

“… Ervin told him if he did not comply, he would be held in contempt of court and remain in jail on $200,000 cash bond.”

    FAR from ‘reasonable bail’.

  3. Let it be known that Ted Visner’s Youtube account is still active. My guess is they seized his computer along with personal papers and effects. Just a heads up…
