Three dead — and one police officer injured — after shooting at Michigan courthouse

Raw Story – by Brad Reed

Updated: Three people — including the shooting suspect — have been fatally shot during an attack on the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan.

According to local station WZZM 13, an unidentified suspect started firing shots at the courthouse at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Police said the situation was under control by 3 p.m.

An unnamed court employee tells the station that two bailiffs died during the shootings, along with the shooting suspect.

In addition to the three victims who were fatally shot, a police officer was also shot in the left arm and finger and was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to ABC News 57 reporter Brian Dorman, the shooter in this case was initially in police custody and being escorted to jail, when he grabbed a deputy’s gun and started firing it.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder announced that the Michigan State Police are investigating the shooting at the moment.

  1. Probably a cop gone ape sh!t. Everybody knows you can’t get into a courthouse without being searched and going through the metal detector. Your rights are taken away as soon as you walk in the door.

  2. I saw reports that an inmate stole a pig’s gun and opened fire, killing two pigs and wounding another before he was killed himself. I hope that’s true about the pigs…

  3. “In addition to the three shooting victims, a police officer was also shot in the left arm and finger…”

Middle finger? Was he flipping the guy off?

“Three dead — and one police officer injured…”

Should read the opposite… three pigs dead, and shooter injured.

    tick, tock…
