Two suspected jihadists in Texas were arrested on Tuesday and formally charged on Wednesday with suspicion of aiding Islamic terrorists, including the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) now fighting in Iraq and Syria, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas.

Rahatul Ashikim Khan and Michael Todd Wolfe were nabbed near Austin, Texas, by federal agents and local police officers who serve on the Central Texas Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). The 23-year-old Khan was arrested without incident at his Texas home. The 23-year-old Wolfe was arrested at the George H.W. Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport as he was about to board a plane flying to Europe, according to police.

In the criminal complaint unsealed on Wednesday, Khan was charged with the federal offense of “providing material support to terrorists.” According to the U.S. Justice Department, beginning in early 2011 through January 2012, “[Khan had] conspired… to recruit [radical Muslims] to travel overseas to support terrorist activities including committing violent jihad,” the Justice Department said.

Khan’s co-defendant, Wolfe was also charged with providing material support to terrorists after attempting to travel to the Middle East via Europe to join one of the radical groups — ISIS, Al-Nusra Front — engaged in armed combat against Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad or battling the Iraqi government.

Khan and Wolfe are said to be facing up to 15 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000 each. Both young Americans are in federal custody, and they are scheduled to attend a detention hearing on Friday in Austin.

The two young men were nailed after an investigation by federal, state and local law enforcement officials from the FBI, IRS,, U.S. Army Intelligence, Austin Police Department and other state and local agencies.

“The growing safe haven for Islamic extremism in Syria and Iraq poses the greatest threat to the national security of Western Europe and the United States today,” said Texas Congressman Michael McCaul, who serves as chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. “Americans and other Westerners with legal travel documents are going to Syria to join the fight and are being trained by jihadists to attack Western targets. This war is not over and the administration needs to face this crisis head on.”

ALL credible witnesses for the prosecution.

    Another FBI set-up.

  2. Khan and Wolfe? Those are Jewish names.

Worried that people are waking up to the fact that ISIS is a US operation to arm anti-Syrian fighters with heavy weapons, the government people need to arrest a couple of the “jihadists” to prove to Uncle Bunky and Aunt Martha that they are the enemy.
