U.S. may review ties with countries deemed anti-Israel: envoy

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The United States may review its ties with countries it deems as being anti-Israel after what a U.S. envoy said on Sunday was a shift in policy toward equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a March speech that anti-Zionism – opposition to Israel’s existence as a homeland for the Jewish people – was a form of anti-Semitism, or hostility toward Jews, that was on the rise worldwide and that Washington would “fight it relentlessly”.

The State Department’s special envoy for monitoring and combating anti-Semitism, Elan Carr, said this U.S. position could spell reviews of ties with foreign governments or leaders.

“The United States is willing to review its relationship with any country, and certainly anti-Semitism on the part of a country with whom we have relations is a deep concern,” he told Reuters during a visit to Israel.

“I will be raising that issue in bilateral meetings that I am undertaking all over the world,” he said. “That is something we are going to have frank and candid conversations about – behind closed doors.”

Carr declined to cite specific countries or leaders, or to elaborate on what actions the Trump administration might take.

“I obviously can’t comment on diplomatic tools that we might bring to bear,” he said. “Each country is a different diplomatic challenge, a different situation, number one. And number two, if I started disclosing what we might do it would be less effective.”

Some U.S. political analysts say that President Donald Trump and other Republicans hope support for Israel will attract Jewish voters, including those disaffected by pro-Palestinian voices within progressive Democratic Party circles.

At the same time, critics have credited Trump’s confrontational, nationalistic rhetoric with encouraging right-wing extremists and feeding a surge in activity by American hate groups. The administration has flatly rejected that charge.

Carr said the administration’s equating of anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism “certainly breaks new ground … by making clear that something that a lot of us who are involved in the Jewish world and a lot of us who are proponents of a strong U.S.-Israel relationship have known for quite some time, and that is that one of the chief flavors of anti-Semitism in the world today is the flavor that conceals itself under anti-Zionism”.

  1. “Imagine having a government that openly and proudly places the interests of Israel and the global Jewish community first and foremost, ahead of the interests of their own country. That’s the United States federal government in a nutshell – the Trump administration, the U.S. Congress, and virtually all political ‘leaders.’ Total puppets and outright slaves to the Jews and their dictates. … Imagine living in a world where Jewish criminals and terrorists openly run your government and media, openly advance policies that lead to the destruction of your nation, openly promote illegal wars of aggression in the Middle East and elsewhere based on total lies and fabrications, and openly demand that anyone pointing these easily observable facts out be punished. Imagine that virtually everyone in mainstream politics goes along with this tyrannical Jewish system, proudly accepting Jewish supremacy and false Jewish narratives of history and current affairs. That’s the world you live in. Are you OK with that?”

    1. I love what he says galen but I hate that he ends with “are you ok with that?”. I know many people who are just fine with it. I see them everyday. I kid you not. I’m sick. I’m sick and tired of it. It disgusts me to my core. And I see more and more of them. I pray to God that Americans will wake up, but I dont see too many doing that. I have always said to focus on the root of the evil, not to be distracted with the divisions and circus around us. Their control of the media makes that all but impossible.

      1. Well, at least we are in the right place to “focus on the root.” Trench Truth!!

I do understand the sickness you feel. Those you witness being “fine” with things are either sleep-walking or in love with mammon so much that they sacrifice their very integrity. Both are a danger, but the latter is uglier.

Me thinks we are born into the darkest of times and are charged with eliminating that darkness. I don’t know what else to do but keep chippin’ away at it. Talkin’ with whomever will listen and being ready, as Henry teaches here.

I saw a headline the other day that read something like:

Whole World Seeing Rise In Anti-Semitism

That says to me that there is a global fed-upness. I see that as a positive. And my friend mentioned Generation Z (those born from 1990’s to 2005) to me. Said there’s a big faction of them awake, fed up with snowflakes, ruthless in pursuing truth, and they’re not being quiet about it. Gen Z may have just the grit needed to tip the scales.

I made a comment the other day saying that I hope I can come out of all this with my soul intact. Hearing the wisdom and commitment from the Trenchers here, helps so much. Makes me know I cannot turn away.

Hang tough, friend. You are of goodness and that’s why it hurts. You have other good ones at your side. And even if we mess up now and then, there’s always a chance to clean off and start again.

        1. Listen to the applause when Trump speaks. Enough to make you vomit.

You have to agree to watch this as its ‘inappropriate and offensive’ (IOW – the truth). Hard to believe JewTube has left it up:

  2. “… a shift in policy toward equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.”

Here we go, people, this is a MAJOR shift in the Matrix ‘evolution’.

See that? They’re trying to push the BULLSH#T LIE that that is ALL that Zionism amounts to… a ‘homeland’ for the stinking jews.

ZIONISM IS A POLITICAL IDEOLOGY, WRAPPED IN A CLOAK OF FAKE-@SS ‘RELIGION’, AND DEEP-FRIED IN PURE LIES & PROPAGANDA!!!!!

Revelation of the Method – we’ve reached the ‘Twilight Zone’ level.

Or maybe ‘The Outer Limits’ would be closer to the mark.

They’re sold out here now… done for the day.
