  1. There are numerous flaws in that feel-good message:

    1. The destruction of American freedom by the US government began long before Obama became president. Although Obama’s actions in office cannot be defended, he has simply been continuing an established process. Speaking of which…

    2. Did that narrator actually quote George W. Bush as an authority on freedom? Seriously? The same Bush who brought us the “War on Terror,” the DHS, and all the rest? He presided over one of the biggest expansions of government power in our entire history!

    3. “That unfinished cause for which our soldiers willingly go to battle and for which so many have given their lives is a free United States of America.”

This is one of the Great Lies of our time. Not only does the government’s standing army NOT protect our freedom, that army (along with domestic police) is the only credible threat to our freedom. Tyrannical laws do not enforce themselves; their enforcement requires police, who in the US are backed up by the standing army.

    4. “Through every war our soldiers have held this nation’s destiny in their hands. They have not failed us. They cherish freedom enough that they are willing to die for it.”

If that’s the case, then why are “our” soldiers serving the same government that is robbing us of our freedom? How many unconstitutional laws or government actions have been prevented or reversed due to the actions of US soldiers over the past century or so? How many foreign invasions that could have led to tyranny have been stopped? Meanwhile, our freedoms diminish as the militarized police state grows ever stronger.

The bald eagle should be replaced by a chicken confined to a coop as the symbol of America today.
