White House Finally Admits Its Role In Causing The Child-Immigrant Tsunami

White House finally admits its role in causing the child-immigrant tsunamiHuman Events – by John Hayward

Breitbart News commemorates a milestone in the deliberately-created humanitarian crisis on our border, as the White House finally admits that President Obama’s unilateral dismantling of immigration laws might just have been a factor in bringing a tsunami of underage illegal immigrants crashing down on our heads:

The White House admitted rumors of free entry to the United States are motivating migrants to risk the trek northward. Officials said they are pushing back against “misinformation,” noting that Vice President Biden’s trip to Guatamala to meet with the leaders of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico is part of that effort.

“[They will] outline ways in which we will be working together to deal with this problem, again the source, to make sure we are doing everything possible both to support countries in stemming the tide of this migration but also to deal with the misinformation that is being deliberately planted by criminal organizations, by smuggling networks, about what people can expect if they come to the United States,” White House Director of Domestic Policy Cecilia Muñoz said on a conference call with reporters Friday.

“Part of what the Vice President’s effort and the administration’s effort overall is to make sure people have accurate information and that we push back on the misinformation that’s being spread and that’s contributing to this problem,” she said.

The White House elaborated in a “Fact Sheet” distributed Friday that specifically, Biden “will reiterate that unaccompanied children and adults arriving with their children are not eligible to benefit from the passage of immigration reform legislation or from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process.”

DACA allows certain illegal immigrants to live and work in the United States. Republicans have argued that DACA and lax immigration enforcement has served to draw more illegal immigration.

You know who else is arguing that?  The tens of thousands of illegal aliens streaming across the Rio Grande.  Every last one of them, from the youngest unaccompanied minor to families hoping their young children are tickets to group amnesty, tells every single media outlet which interviews them the same story: everyone back in Guatemala or Honduras knows that if you get a child across the U.S. border, he becomes a sainted “Dreamer” and will be allowed to stay.  It’s an idea spread by both informal word-of-mouth and news networks.

The idea that Joe Biden is going to halt this catastrophe by meeting with the corrupt governments of South America and handing out fact sheets is beyond ridiculous.  In fact, it’s exactly the sort of hollow “see, we’re doing something!” gesture you’d expect from this Administration and its ideological fellow-travelers.  They wanted this tidal wave; it’s going to overwhelm the immigration system, the welfare system, and our private-sector job market.  You can already hear liberals saying the child-immigrant tsunami is proof that we need a “pathway to citizenship” now more than ever.

It’s also giving Big Government an excuse to seize and spend more of your money, which is is second-favorite pastime, next to deliberately creating a variety of crises it can use to justify its own further growth.  Check out the river of money flowing from your wallet into the corrupt governments of the southern hemisphere:

In addition to the “surge,” the Obama administration announced the U.S. will send an extra $9.6 million to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to help repatriate their citizens.

The U.S. will also provide another $40 million for a USAID citizen security program in Guatemala, a new $25 million Crime and Violence Prevention USAID program for outreach centers in El Salvador, and $18.5 million to Honduras to help local police combat crime.

The “surge” in question is an increase in Border Patrol resources, which is a necessary step… but at the moment, the Border Patrol and ICE are completely overwhelmed by the people already on the U.S. side of the border.  The kids who don’t make it across are piling up in squalid refugee camps, located in crime-infested precincts of Mexico, literally in sight of the Rio Grande.  If Obama dangles another DACA amnesty deal in front of them, or Congress passes some “comprehensive immigration reform” laden with goodies for the “Dreamers,” the people in those camps are going to rush the border like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

Why wouldn’t they?  This dopey new Administration talking point about how the new wave of illegal immigrants are “confused” and pursuing a “false hope” is 100 pure bunkum.  It’s not a “false hope,” and the new arrivals are not deluded fools because they didn’t read the fine print on Obama’s executive orders.  The “repatriation” we’re sending $9.6 million to the kleptocracies of Central America to facilitate is sheer fantasy.

What’s actually happening is that the new arrivals are being dispersed across the United States – not just to border states, but even to places like New York, where officials are complaining that both government and private programs designed to deal with illegal immigrants are collapsing under the stress.  Here’s the Arizona Republic’s account of what happens to the new wave of “refugees” once they reach American soil:

Doris Martinez, 46, left Honduras on April 24 with her 5-year-old daughter, Anni, traveling most of the way by bus. Anni has Down syndrome. Before leaving, Martinez heard that the U.S. government was giving women traveling with children “permisos” — permits — to stay in the U.S. if they could make it across the river on their own.

The rumor isn’t true. The U.S. government has been releasing parents traveling with children because detention facilities in the U.S. have been overwhelmed by the surge in Central Americans traveling with children.

After being processed, the migrant families are dropped off at bus stations in McAllen and other cities, including recently in Tucson and Phoenix. They are given notices to report to U.S. immigration authorities once they reach their destinations.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials have stressed that even though the migrant families from Central America are being released, they remain in deportation proceedings.

Nevertheless, the rumor that women with children will be allowed to stay permanently was reinforced for Martinez after some relatives of her husband crossed the Rio Grande illegally in March. They were released after being detained for a few days and allowed to continue on their journey to the East Coast.

Martinez has a niece in Dallas.

“My intention is to cross to the other side to the United States because my daughter has special needs. I am looking for help. I heard there is a special school for children like her,” Martinez said. “In Honduras, they don’t help children like her. They discriminate against them. They treat them like they aren’t even people.”

I’d say Doris Martinez has a better grasp on the realities of the situation than either the Obama Administration’s flacks, or the journalists who pretend to believe them.  The excerpt reprinted above begins with a statement that the “rumors” of permanent residency aren’t true… and then literally every other word that follows is proof that it is true.

We’ve been hearing for decades that deporting illegal aliens en masse is impossible, an idea so impractical as to be worthy of contempt, not to mention inhuman and racist.  Does anyone truly believe there will be a massive roundup of the dispersed illegals arriving in the current wave – people who are literally on the honor system to keep in touch with Immigration and Customs Enforcement during their endless “deportation proceedings” – herding them into holding pens from which they will be loaded onto C-130 transports and shipped back to their countries of origin?

This battle was over before the first big news story was published.  The population of the United States has been permanently adjusted, and there’s a good chance that the newcomers will be used as irresistible leverage for even more relaxed immigration enforcement, leading to further surges.  The tide will never really go out on this tsunami, unless the American government takes firm steps immediately to reverse the accurate impression held by the illegal-immigrant wave that rich prizes await them upon arrival – maybe not immediately, but they’ll be allowed to stay while a hefty bipartisan chunk of our political system finishes hammering out a deal to grant them citizenship.

The only thing that will end this “surge” is a series of iron-clad, immediate measures to secure the border and deport the illegals who are already here.  Locking down the border is a dubious proposition at best – it would be difficult and expensive, and it’s a duty the Obama Administration in particular, and the Ruling Class in general, has no appetite for.  And the only way we’ll get any sort of enhanced border security is to cut a deal with the amnesty caucus in a “comprehensive immigration reform bill” that includes concessions to the illegals who are already here… the sort of trade-off whose border-security component is likely to prove a sham anyway.  What odds would a Vegas bookie give an illegal alien with children, or an unaccompanied alien minor, for getting “repatriated,” versus securing the permanent residency status they came here for?

Meanwhile, the new arrivals will hear a loud segment of our Ruling Class sing their praises, calling young illegals by flattering names like “Dreamer” and insisting they are, in many ways, superior to native-born young people.  They’ll never be referred to as criminals; most major media organizations already refuse to refer to them as either “illegal” or “alien,” and the Obama Administration never uses either term.

The Big Business side of the amnesty caucus will keep cranking out white papers purporting to demonstrate that illegal immigrants are a net plus to the U.S. economy (in which case, why wouldn’t we want as many of them as we can get?)  There won’t be any massive deportations.  There will be rallies and protest marches calling for a pathway to citizenship, so these noble refugess can stop “living in the shadows.”  They’ll hear some more warm talk about how crossing the border illegally with your children is an “act of love” (Jeb Bush) or how undocumented aliens are “already American citizens” (Joe Biden).

So please, spare me the White House talking-point nonsense about how the surge of “migrants” (evident the new term of media art for them) was mistaken to come here, because they didn’t read Paragraph 37(c) of Obama’s latest executive order.  They’re here because they have friends and relatives who were already here, and told them to come.  They’re here because they got a fairly accurate picture of what the American Ruling Class has been saying about immigration reform, over the hapless protests of their largely ignored electorate.  They’re here because they were invited

Update: Check out this story from the L.A. Times about how “an ascendant class of Latino lawmakers is seeking to rewrite the books and discard polarizing laws” – such as the laws against granting “public services such as healthcare and education from those in the country illegally” – and tell me another fairy tale about how the mad rush of illegals across our border is pure folly based on a woeful misunderstanding of American law and politics.

  1. I’m tired of wading through the waste. I don’t even want to hear it. They’re going to keep shoveling it until their heads are rolling, and leave us to clean up the mess.

    1. I read half and decided I was sick of this story too. This a$$hat and the lot needs either a public hanging or a private firing squad. Of course after the water-boarding. If they opt for the private firing squad they are shot in the chest and then fall a few inches before the noose chokes the life out.

Of course I love all humans. And some DO have issues.
But everyone needs a victim so i volunteer that trash.

    2. JR, we totally think alike dude. I’m sick of their bullshit and it doesn’t even matter because no one is going to do anything about it. They will just say, “oh well” and continue to do the shit without punishment. It’s the same shit over and over again and will never stop until We the People in militia formation, go to DC and rip their goddamn heads off!

  2. If someone did some digging into who is funding all the news hype in South America about the free ride now available for those who can get to the US with a child I think we might find some interesting information. What’s most intriguing to me is the lure for just kids, and maybe a few women (if they are young and/or good looking?). This whole kids across the boarder thing has a very creepy vibe to me, way too much like the Pied Piper. Once we get to the bottom of this it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the code name for the operation because it sure fits.

  3. Biden said he didn’t want the illegals to dribble in, he wanted them to stream in because it would help the national economy.
