Hollywood, CALIFORNIA — A woman who was shot in the back of the head with a shotgun while walking with her boyfriend in Hollywood appeared to have been killed in a “random act of violence,” police said Monday:
The Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a woman in her 30s dead in Hollywood.
On July 5, 2015, around 10:12 p.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the area of Sunset Boulevard and McCadden Place. Officers found that a female in her 30s had been shot while walking with her companion on McCadden Place toward Sunset Boulevard when an unidentified male Black approached on foot and shot the victim. The suspect left northbound on McCadden Place in a black sedan.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The circumstances and motive for this homicide are still under investigation.

Sounds more like a “hit”, the companion wasn’t shot.
My thoughts exactly. You don’t just go out and randomly shoot someone in public with a shotgun and not shoot their friend/companion who was with that person.
Reminds me of that shooting that happened a few months ago where a guy pulled up at a traffic light alongside another car and shot the girl in the passenger’s side but did not shoot the driver and then drove off. Clearly a hit. This fits the same kind of MO.

But why only the women in these cases are getting shot? Why not the companion or the father? Something seems wrong here.
I grew up in L.A. Misty, and it’s a very nasty place. People are killed there every day, but most don’t make the national news (locally, though, to keep the sheeple in constant fear).
Likely this one did by ‘virtue’ of being a black on white crime.
