It’s just an umbrella:
A New Jersey light rail shutdown was due to an umbrella that was mistaken for an assault rifle.
Someone had reported to police that a man wearing black pants, white dress shirt, with a cast on his arm was “armed with a long barrel assault weapon” had gotten on the train.
It happened Friday morning on NJ Transit’s Hudson-Bergen line.
Several light rail trains were held after the report involving a train leaving Liberty State park around 8 a.m.
Police started scouring surveillance videos and was able to track down the man at the Exchange Place station.
Apparently, they were able to determine that the only “weapon” the man had was the umbrella he planned to use later in the day to fight off rain from hitting him.
Trains were rolling again a short time later.
In their defense, umbrellas have been in the news for being held by some pretty dangerous people.

Hey now, let’s not be too hasty to judge! After all, anyone who’s ever seen Batman knows that the Penguin disguised some pretty high tech weapons as umbrellas!
Gotta say it Sunfire, but remember that shoe phone from that show ” Get Smart ” from back in the day. Ya know agent 99 and Maxwell Smart. 🙂 LOL.
Yes, I remember that show well! Believe it or not is still airs in syndication on cable networks and satellite TV. Just imagine what “Agent 99” and “007” could have done together! *laughs*
HaHaHa Yea Sunfire, I remember thoes and every once in a while I`lll do a search for one of those old shows and watch it. Memories, 🙂 , ya know. Yea Sunfire, now ya got me thinkin` of that agent 99 and 007 , LOL.

I’m thinking it’s just a case of dumbed down, skittish big city folks who just flat out can’t tell the difference between something useful and a gadget to keep the rain off you. It’s a sad commentary on todays society when people go from having a tizzy straight into full blown panic when they’re too stupid to know what they’re looking at. If Holder ain’t too busy investigating himself, perhaps he can look into whether we should ban umbrellas so the timid don’t wet themselves at the sight of ’em.

So, does this mean it would be easy to disguise an assault-rifle as an umbrella?
Perhaps Kokesh’s followers could just march over from Alexandria with umbrellas on their backs come July 4.
Steed from “The Avengers” had a pretty lethal umbrella too.
