A&E, Duck Dynasty, Free Speech And The Right to Religious Beliefs – CONTACT Information

Before It’s News – by Susan Duclos

The news that broke yesterday was that Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the incredibly popular A&E show, expressed his opinion on homosexuality, then A&E suspended him from the show that averages over 14 million viewers, for said opinion.

Below the commentary will be the A&E company information, along with a page where you can leave a comment, and contact information as well as information on their parent company Hearst.

When did having a belief, based in one’s religion and using the constitutional right of free speech to give that opinion become a punishable offense?

His GQ quotes:

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men

“Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

”It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

Robertson also said and this is what most people are ignoring:

We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ‘em, give ‘em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ‘em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

Whether you agree with his beliefs or not, everyone should be standing up for his right to express them… it is a basic constitutional right!

Many didn’t agree with him, many do not share his belief, but how does their right not to have their feelings hurt become more important than his free speech rights and freedom of religion?

I see nowhere in the constitution where a person has the right not to have their feelings hrut or where because someone’s words offended them they have the right to punish them.

NOWHERE.

A&E’s statement shown below:

We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

Well, I can tell A&E that they have 14 million viewers and countless free speech proponents, along with an untold number of people who believe in freedom of religion, “extremely disappointed” in their stance all in the name of political correctness.

  1. We need to let these commies know that we will not support their attempts to shut down OUR 1st Amendment. They are trying to make everyone scared to speak up. I say BS. We need to speak louder when they do shit like this!

  2. WHO CARES?
I couldn’t care less what this jerk off has to say. He makes duck calls for f-sake. Actually he doesn’t make duck calls. He is a owner of a company that does.
If this story matters to you shoot your self in the neck. You are a programmed mind control idiot.
PS his opinion of god matters less than his opinion on gays.

    1. Its not about the TV show or Phil Robertson. We don’t watch it. It is about the commies trying to control our views. If they get away with shutting up people who have an opinion, they win. The guy is well known. He spoke his opinion and they fired him. They have been doing this more and more. If they continue to get away with it, we will lose all of our rights.
Television stations are mouthpieces for the powers that be and their communist agenda. When we can effect it we need to speak out.
I like your comments here nottoobitter, but his story does matter to me and it should matter to you because it is about the 1st Amendment. It is not about a TV show. I am not a mind controlled zombie.
P.S., I will save the neck bullet for a commie.

    2. nottoobitter… you are what’s wrong with this country! Your ignorance will get you the hemp rope when this is all over

    3. Educate yourself before engaging MOUTH IE- Phil Robertson was a starting quarterback at LSU keeping Terry Bradshaw on the bench,he left the assured million $ life to persue his hunting passion and INVENTED,DESIGNED and SOLD his ideal duckcall, this man stands for DECENCY family values and the american way of life. Shame on you for supporting fkn QUEERS and the NWO agenda.
      Steve

    4. I have to agree with you, nottobitter. I don’t care what this freak or Honey Boo Boo or Kim Khardashian or any of the rest of these dumbed-down tv characters have to say about anything. And it has nothing to do with any 1st Amendment rights. This is about the Station denying a platform to someone who is inciting hatred and violence against those who are born gay. People like this make a mockery of Christianity.

      1. Bullshit geo,
He is way different than honey booboo. He never incited violence or hatred against people who claim to have been born gay. He stated his opinion. My opinion is the same as his, a vagina is way better than an anus! Should I be banned from this site for saying that? Am I inciting violence against gay folks? Hell no. If someone is gay that is their problem not mine. They have no right to force me to believe it is right!
It does have everything to do with the first amendment. I know the station is privately owned, but if we tolerate this type of censorship, our nation will be scared to speak up. Christians don’t boycott abc because they play modern family do they.

      2. I fail to see where he is inciting violence. He clearly states that he doesn’t judge someone, that’s God’s responsibility. If he’s a freak, then you can call me a freak as well.

  3. My feelings are hurt. What those 2% of our population are saying is upsetting me. I would sure hate to be in A&E’s shoes right now. What I DO find inspiring, is the fact that any comments on articles about this situation CLEARLY show how real Americans feel. One article had over 26,000 comments, and the VAST majority were pro-Phil. I don’t care if someone is a butt-poker, and they shouldn’t care if I’m not.

    Stay Alert, Stay Alive

  4. Awww….. he disrespected the gays. Boo-hoo….Wah!!!

Jew media and the government: “That’s it! No more jobs for him. He FREELY expressed his opinions and went against our views and agenda. He is banned for life from ever working again, show business or not. He should be castrated and be not deserved to live like a normal human being.”

    Unfrigginbelievable.

    1. NC,
kind of funny how we cant say shit against jews, fags and illegal felons invading our country without some group being offended, BUT Christians and Americans who believe in the Bill of Rights are always fair game. I am tired of the BS. Shit like this makes me speak up even more for what I believe.

  5. I understand why some act as if this is a first amendment issue.
Lets say I work as a spokes person for a brand. I voice an opinion that the brand identifies against. I get fired.
What right do I have to not be fired for voicing personal beliefs when im under a contract that requires me to speak on behalf of a brand?

Smilardog thinks i should be hanged because I am ignorant.
If smilardog is a national spokesman for a compassion and understanding cause, my guess would be his job would be terminated.
If smilardog is not under a contract that limits personal beliefs being said in a public forum, life goes on.

This guy made the brand mad. Im sure under his contract he is in violation. If he doesnt like the jew media, he should not make money for them.

Smilardog. you let me know when ‘this is all over’ tough guy. I will bring the rope.

  6. Thank you Sweet Jesus someone finally spoke up.
Phil Robertson knew the consequences when he spoke up
and the consequences seem to be fine with him.
A lot of homosexuals choose this lifestyle d/t its
monetary gains as there are a lot of rich closet homosexuals
out there. I knew one who made this statement. Amen!
