Army awards AM General $11.8M for 60 Humvees

UPI – by James LaPorta

Feb. 26 (UPI) — AM General was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to procure 60 M1167 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles or HMMWV.

The deal, announced Friday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $11.8 million under a modified contract.

The HMMWV, or what is commonly known as the Humvee, is a four-wheel drive military light truck that has been regularly produced since 1984.

Work will occur in Mishawaka, Ind., and is expected to be complete by December 2018.

The total amount of the contract will be obligated to AM General from Army fiscal 2017 other procurement funds.

  1. This is a bullshit money grab
these trucks were put out of production because the contract was given to another vendor for an entirely different vehicle

I smell an under the table deal

      1. Definitely not worth that much
To be honest they are and were a huge POS the day they started making them

Under powered over weight under engineered piles of crap
        With an aluminum body

I know a few Army mechanics that still laugh at these

  2. 11.8 mil.

And the muthfkers don’t even have a toilet built in them.

I would think at least the drivers seat would have one.

That way when he/she yells oh sht…from an IED you can identify them.

Because his/her azz chunks will/ won’t have a ring around the collar.

And now a word from our sponsors.

  3. Well let’s see, that would be $11,800,000. divided by 60 =196666.6666666667 Lot’s of 6’s in this equation,coincidence?

For an additional million they could put shitter’s in them. I say let them spend away- that is corporate debt not mine.I consider it odious debt when they point their finger at me and say your household is responsible for X amount of that debt.Corruption abounds and knows no end. Oh well just another day on Earth.
