PITTSBURGH – Students at a Pennsylvania high school have become part of one of the most elaborate lip syncing videos to hit the web recently.

About 1,400 students (grades nine through 12) at North Hills High School participated in a very choreographed ‘lip dub’ video, performed to Avicii’s song, ‘Wake Me Up.’ The video features some kind of representation of all of the school’s various clubs and activities students can choose to belong to.    Continue reading “High School pulls off epic ‘lip dub’ performance”

The Government Rag- by Stephanie Sledge

Over the past few decades, America has seen a steady increase of police departments across the nation subscribe and incorporate ‘Elite’ crime fighting teams called Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). These elite teams are highly trained in the militarized special operations and urban warfare tactics. These SWAT teams were once viewed by the public as a good way to fight the drug war. Over the past few years the public view has flipped and now Citizens are beginning to question whether these elite SWAT teams are a deeper sign of a hostile takeover of America from within.   Continue reading “Elite Swat Teams & the Discovery of a Hostile Take-Over from Within”

beer craft ccAgainst Crony Capitalism – by Nick Sorrentino

Beer, many of us love it. I definitely count myself a fan. A nice hefewiesen on a hot day while grilling burgers is one of the great gifts of life. But stouts, ales, lagers, pilsners, porters, and bocks all have their place. Variety is the spice of life, and beer. And that is why craft brewers have sprouted up like barley shoots all over our great nation over the last decade. It is a golden age for beer drinkers. Never before have beer consumers had so much quality and so much variety.   Continue reading “Bill would require Florida craft brewers to sell beer to distributors, then buy it back for resale”

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas legislators gave final approval Saturday to a bill that would nullify city and county gun restrictions and ensure that it’s legal across the state to openly carry firearms, a measure the National Rifle Association sees as a nationwide model for stripping local officials of their gun-regulating power.

The House approved the legislation, 102-19, a day after the Senate passed it, 37-2. The measure goes next to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback. He hasn’t said whether he’ll sign it, but he’s a strong supporter of gun rights and has signed other measures backed by the NRA and the Kansas State Rifle Association.   Continue reading “Kansas lawmakers OK bill to void local gun rules”

US President Barack Obama’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia confirms what many even causal political observers have begun to suspect regarding recent US political history, that Washington’s values aren’t just nonpartisan, driven entirely by special interests permeating both sides of the political aisle, but are altogether non-existent. To understand why requires an understanding of both US-Saudi relations, not just during the Obama administration, but over the past several decades, as well as a basic understanding of Saudi Arabia itself.   Continue reading “Obama, the Sauds, and Bottomless Hypocrisy”

In Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana students staged a sit-in over the school’s failure to acknowledge a student’s suicide. Of note is the fact the principle responds to their protest by saying he’s “in charge” and ordering everyone to get out their IDs, basically acting like a two-bit thug cop. After one student makes a snarky comment that he’s “disappointed” in the principle, he then orders the student be arrested, to which the lackey cops present immediately oblige.    Continue reading “High School Student Arrested For Telling Principal He’s “Disappointed” In Him”

The Transatlantic Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA) between the US and EU aims to ‘protect’ investment and remove ‘unnecessary regulatory barriers’. Corporate interests are driving the agenda, the public have been sidelined and unaccountable, pro-free-trade bureaucrats are facilitating the strategy (1).

There is growing concern that the negotiations could result in the opening of the floodgates for GMOs and shale gas (fracking) in Europe, the threatening of digital and labour rights and the empowering of corporations to legally challenge a wide range of regulations which they dislike.   Continue reading “The US-EU Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA). Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
