Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is stepping up his criticism of President Obama’s plan to regulate the internet, warning that new rules will lead to the types of taxes and fees slapped on telephones and cable service.

HOUSTON – Anyone using Medicare could soon lose doctors. More than half, 58%, of physicians in Texas are threatening or already refusing to accept Medicare payments, according to Texas Medical Association data.

As a prepper, you’re likely familiar with the horrors of poison ivy, oak and sumac.  And you can probably avoid them most of the time.  But in the darkness of night, accidently brushing against a plant while out on patrol, or worse, when using the “facilities” – is not uncommon.

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – CBS News has learned from the Secret Service that shots were fired outside Vice President Joe Biden’s home in Delaware Saturday night.

The house was said to be unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries. The shooting occurred shortly before 8:30 “on a public road outside the established security perimeter,” a Secret Service official told CNN. MYFOXNY.COM/AP – 150 firefighters have responded to an early morning fire near Penn Station which is affecting subway and rail service in the area.

Authorities say A, E and C trains are back to normal but are slowing down on approach to Penn Station.

WASHINGTON (WJLA/NewsChannel 8) – One woman died, two passengers were critically hurt and dozens more were injured after heavy smoke filled a Metro train and the tunnel at L’Enfant Plaza station, authorities said Monday evening.

Hundreds of people were evacuated about 3:30 p.m. as thick smoke filled the rail tunnel at one of the busiest Metro locations in the city. The source of the smoke remained unknown Monday night and the closed station was being ventilated. The city of Houston, which created a firestorm of controversy by issuing subpoenas for copies of pastors’ sermons in a case over a transgender “rights” ordinance, now contends the pastors have no right to a jury trial and wants a hand-picked “special master” to review the evidence.

The dispute centers on tens of thousands of signatures collected on petitions to overturn the city’s “equal rights” ordinance adopted under the direction of lesbian mayor Annise Parker. If you recall, the entire purpose behind Obamacare, according to the president and the law’s backers, was only to insure something like 14 or 15 million people, because at the time the measure was being debated, the vast majority of Americans — well over 80 percent — had health insurance. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has sustained another data breach, putting more than 7,000 veterans at risk of identity theft. A potential flaw in one of VA’s patient databases managed by a vendor to provide home telehealth services may have exposed personal information of veterans. The security flaw could have exposed veterans’ data, including name, address, date of birth, phone number and VA patient identification number, via the Internet.
