A severe drought affecting Brazil’s biggest city has led to a “water war” that could cause the water supply to collapse in parts of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Authorities in São Paulo have been battling a water crisis for months as reservoirs run dry for lack of rainfall.

Earlier this month, the state energy company in São Paulo (Cesp) asked the national operator of the electric system (ONS) to reduce the water flow at the Jaguari hydro-electric dam on the Rio Paraíba do Sul from 40,000 litres per second to 10,000 litres per second.

CONAKRY (Reuters) – Staff with the World Health Organisation battling an Ebola outbreak in West Africa see evidence the numbers of reported cases and deaths vastly underestimates the scale of the outbreak, the U.N. agency said on its website on Thursday.

The death toll from the world’s worst outbreak of Ebola stood on Wednesday at 1,069 from 1,975 confirmed, probable and suspected cases, the agency said. The majority were in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, while four people have died in Nigeria.   Continue reading “Evidence suggests Ebola toll vastly underestimated: WHO”

The Secret Service said it is “aware” of a photo that appeared to show an image of an ISIS flag in front of the White House.

If authentic, the photo showed a hand holding up an image of a flag for ISIS (also known as ISIL or Islamic State), displayed on a smartphone, on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House fence. That area, closed off to street traffic, is frequented by thousands of tourists every day.   Continue reading “Secret Service ‘Aware’ of Apparent ISIS Flag Photo in Front of the White House”

If you like Obamacare, you’re going to love Proposition 45, the ballot initiative that would give one politician– liberal Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones–complete authority over health care costs and benefits for individuals and small businesses in California.

Worse, the trial lawyers who fund Jones’s campaigns wrote Prop 45 to help them make more money from frivolous lawsuits. When liberal politicians and trial lawyers conspire to change laws to benefit themselves, you can bet that taxpayers will get the short end of the stick.   Continue reading “Prop 45: CA Doubles Down On Obamacare With New ‘Health Care Czar’”

Notice how Perry in his speech never mentions anything about the National Guard arresting or fighting the invaders coming across the border. All that’s stated is to have them assist the Border Patrol and police and to protect them from the drug cartels. So in other words, assist in babysitting and expediting the processing and transfer of the illegal invaders.

Regulars at the Vineyard Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard were gob-smacked when President Obama unexpectedly strolled onto a nearby green and they were immediately frisked. “There was no warning he was coming,” sniffed a guest.

“There was security on the way in, but no word as to why they were there.” The member added, “While eating, overlooking the golf course, guests had to stand up and be wanded.” One asked if he could finish his hot soup first, and an Obama security man cracked, ominously, “So, you’re not cooperating?”   Continue reading “Golfers frisked as Obama unexpectedly arrives at Martha’s Vineyard club”

HOUSTON, Texas — Tens of thousands of Central Americans have entered the country illegally since October 2013; most of them will be likely considered “refugees” and ultimately be allowed to remain in the U.S. Consequently, many of the migrants will receive welfare from the federal government, funded by taxpayers. Health and Human Services (HHS) documents, obtained by Breitbart Texas, show that significant federal funds go towards encouraging refugees to enroll in long term welfare programs, and towards administering such benefits directly.    Continue reading “HHS Promotes Cash Assistance and Obamacare for Foreign Refugees”
