Bisbee Police make $3 million marijuana bust; 2 people arrested

Bisbee Police bust 4,700 lbs. of marijuana valued at $3 millionKVOA 4 News – by Steve Nunez

BISBEE, AZ — Bisbee Police say a moving truck filled with 4,700 pounds of marijuana lead officers to a house in Naco, Arizona, where ICE and Border Patrol agents made another significant discovery.

Police say they first pulled over a man driving a moving truck along Highway 92 and Wilson Road late last night.

The driver gave officers permission to search the vehicle. That’s when officers discovered more than 200 bundles of marijuana packed inside of the moving truck. The pot has a street value of about $3 million.

Police arrested the driver and booked him into the Cochise County Jail.. His name is not being released at this time.

According to Sgt. Robert Coronado, Bisbee police had received information the house was being used for drug trafficking.

ICE and U.S. Border Patrol agents then took over the investigation and secured a search warrant at the home in Naco. The home is located right along the border.

Agents then searched the home and found more evidence of drug trafficking.

Agents then arrested a second man in connection with the marijuana bust.

Bisbee police could not provide News 4 Tucson with any other details. Police would only confirm federal agents made a significant discovery.

      1. If that was a ‘diversion load’, the ‘real’ load must really be something! I’d think this whole deal was ‘theatrics’ before I’d buy the theory that the truckload was just a diversion for another shipment.

  1. I doubt this story is true but let’s say it is…could be some independents operating outside the CIA network and some local cops just stumbled over it. It could be why they called in ICE, you know, to ensure seizure of “evidence” and to make sure said “evidence” gets properly redistributed inside the CIA’s delivery network.
The “substantial discovery” was probably a CIA identification tag someone left laying around.

  2. ” Police would only confirm federal agents made a significant discovery.”

    Cash stash.

“Bisbee police could not provide News 4 Tucson with any other details.”

    HUGE cash stash.

    Never see the evidence room.

    1. Who knows… the while thing could be just ‘theatre’ for the purpose of making “law-enforcement” look “good”, and justifying their budget(s).
If it’s a ‘real’ bust, indeed… most of the cash would end up being ‘absorbed by the apparatus.’

  3. Wow…someone sniffed out a useful plant that’s legal in how many States…good work…here’s yer doughnut.
