An enterprising Chinese chicken farmer has built an orange submarine powered by five car batteries, Agence France-Presse reports. 44-year-old Tan Yong bolted together his two-tonne craft, christened the “Happy Lamb” after a popular cartoon character, at a cost of around $5,000 and has steered it down to depths of 26 feet. “I never studied this in school, I’ve based everything on my imagination,” he said. “I can stay underwater for 45 minutes.”
