Before It’s News – by Monica Davis
Increasingly, land and water resources will drive war and warfare. I’ve said more than once, that the next war will be over natural resources. Those who can defend their own resources will be at war with “bigger fish” and those who can not defend their own borders and maintain their own water, land and resources will be at the mercy of global resource pirates.
As I noted in an earlier article, private copanies in the US and around the world are buying up local water resources. National and global players are consolidating their hold on the world’s water supplies.
Consolidation, acquisition and industry dominance: the formula for business expansion continues to shrink the water utility industry. A recent acquisition in Indiana by Indiana American Water shows the future of the industry: consolidation and acquisition of more water utilities by major national players.READMOREHERE
Drought conditions across the US are pitting conumers, fracking interests, and farmers against one another for finite water supplies. Without irrigation, California’s farm industry could not exist. What happens when drought, climate change and overuse/over-extension of water use colllide?
Now, take that on a global scale, where countries who can not defend their water resources are at the mercy of privateers, privatizers and oligarchs. Then, look at oligarchs who have no use for their fellow human beings–especially when populations rise and resources dwindle.
Put all of that together and you have a nice recipe for war. What happens when the only limits on production and exploitation are the ones the oligarchs set? Take a look at China for a look into a nightmare future.
f you have all the money in the world, but there’s nothing in the world worth buying, then what’s the point of having so much money in the first place?
Two crucial new tidbits of information coming out of China are helping to paint a fuller picture of the long-lasting damage from the unrestrained capitalism that’s evident in the world’s most populous nation. A newly-released Chinese state secret revealed that one-fifth of China’s farmland is unusable due to toxins in the soil leaked by industry. Worse still, 60 percent of China’s groundwater is undrinkable, for the same reasons.
When you combine China’s dwindling natural resources with its massive population that encompasses 20 percent of the planet, it’s easy to see how China will inevitably lead itself to societal collapse if it continues its brand of entirely unregulated capitalism. While China is technically known as a Communist country, it’s actually outdoing the US when it comes to establishing a completely unregulated business environment. MOREHERE
Twenty percent of their farmland is unusable. Sixty percent of the groundwater is poisoned. There are only three choices: cut population with draconian birth control, expand land mass with domestic expansion and eliminate ethnic populations–Tibet, for example, or go to war and acquire more land.
Remember the claims about the “South CHINA Sea? As China moves forward in the 21rst century and beefs up her navy and military, and acquires mining and resource interests in many African countries, she will increasingly challenge the US as a global power–and gain access to critical minerals and resources.
Claims and access to mineral wealth drive territorial disputes in the South Chiba Sea. According to Wikipedia:
Territorial disputes in the South China Sea involve both land (island) and maritime disputes among seven sovereign states within the region, namely the:
- People’s Republic of China (PRC)
- Republic of China (Taiwan)
- Philippines
- Vietnam
- Malaysia
- Brunei
- Indonesia
The disputes include the maritime boundary in the Gulf of Tonkin as well as maritime boundaries off the coasts of Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines. There is a further dispute in the waters near the Indonesian Natuna Islands. Additionally, there are disputes among the various island chains of the South China Sea basin, including theSpratly Islands and the Paracel Islands. The interests of different nations include acquiring fishing areas around the twoarchipelagos, the potential exploitation of suspected crude oil and natural gas under the waters of various parts of the South China Sea, and the strategic control of important shipping lanes.
The South China Sea disputes offer massive cleansing opportunities, not to mention creating a gold mine for weapons merchants.
“If you have all the money in the world, but there’s nothing in the world worth buying, then what’s the point of having so much money in the first place?”
Yep, it’s like I’ve been saying, even if China has all the wealth in the world, what good is it if they have no one who has any money to buy their cheap goods? Europe and the US are their biggest consumers.
So now I guess China, realizing this, is just going ahead by going to the countries themselves and buying up all our land and Europe and Africa’s land and create cities there for themselves so that they will control the resources and government and that people will be forced to buy from them using their money under a Communist World Order. A complete economic change.
SHUTDOWN AND CLOSE OFF ALL THE PORTS, ALREADY!!!
all wars have been and will be resource wars..usually it was just oil, than it was oil and gas..it will move to oil ,gas, clean water, land , trees(lumber) etc..
and those that will get F-ed..will be us
The traitors have created Public Private Partnerships that have their hands in all our resources. When the time comes the Private stakeholders can assert or transfer their stake to any other private entity, such as China. I laugh at these enviros who partner with Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club. etc.(private entities) because some day the forests they prevent cutting in will be RAPED!
No war or blood. Unless the masses of sheeple learn about, and react to A21- which is not likely, as they are busy pleasure seeking and hiding from reality.
“… private companies in the US and around the world are buying up local water resources. National and global players are consolidating their hold on the world’s water supplies.”
They have to be stopped. Water is essential.
