SOLON, IOWA – This is only the 6th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state Iowa, and it just so happens to be a 5 for 1 deal.
It all started when police tried to stop a vehicle that matched a description from a “shots fired” call. The vehicle decided not to stop and lead officers on a long chase.
Eventually, the car crashed into a child’s playhouse in the front yard of a home. The occupants of the vehicle got out and fled on foot. The officer who was giving chase fell down and badly hurt his shoulder. That’s when some armed good Samaritans got involved. According to Fox 28 Iowa,
That’s when the five men got out of the car and took off running; two neighbors saw the commotion and decided to help.
Tim Moore and Scott Eastwood say the five men threw drugs and a gun down in his yard as they ran across the highway.
During the chase, the deputy who was chasing them fell so Tim and Scott got into a truck and continued to chase the men. The men were eventually caught when the neighbors confronted them and held them [at gunpoint] there until back up arrived.
Interestingly, the news report video mentions that the good Samaritan used a gun to apprehend the suspects, but there is no mention of that fact in the written piece.
This incident is the one of the most common types of defensive gun uses. That is, one in which no one was actually shot. Despite this being one of the most common types of defensive gun uses, these incidents are often not included in statistics about defensive gun uses. Many of these statistics and studies focus solely on justifiable homicides, which represent only a fraction of total defensive gun uses.
As mentioned, this is the 6th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Iowa and the 1,237th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.

and the reason the news didnt report that a citizen with a legal gun held the suspects is because they couldnt get the call into Obamas office fast enough to see how he wanted this story white washed (lied about or covered up)
