With chatter that over $3 billion has been thrown into the FX market to buy Turkish Lira, it appears the central bank is losing control quickly and Turkish stocks are tumbling. The Turkish Lira collapse almost 400 pips this morning to around 2.30 to the USD – an all-time record low as the combination of corruption, social unrest, and Fed taper are seeing hot money outflows faster than the Turkish Central bank can keep control. This is the biggest tumble in the Lira in almost 5 months as the Istanbul 100 (stocks) drops 2.9% – its biggest drop in a month; and Turkish bond yields are backing up to 2-year highs. What would happen if you tried to serve an arrest warrant on Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip? Last week British citizen David Compan found out.
Compan was twice arrested without charges, accosted and drugged, as was his wife. He remained incarcerated for at least a month in the London Park Royal Mental Health Centre. Continue reading “Queen guilty in missing children case, warrant server arrested?”

As Mark Twain once said, “There are lies and there are damn lies”. There is a rumor floating around the internet and it has gone viral. The rumor states that when Hillary Clinton went to China, she pledged the ownership of our homes as collateral to the Chinese so that they would continue to purchase our debt. As the Super Bowl approaches New York much like a blizzard, here are some things to think about: in 2012, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was paid $29.5 million to run the organization. And that’s not all. The NFL, if you didn’t realize it, exists as a 501 c 6 organization. It’s not for profit!
In order to have that status, the NFL must be run as a charitable foundation. In 2012, they gave away a meager $2.3 million. Almost all of it–$2.1 million– went to the NFL Hall of Fame. The USA Patriot Act, passed so fast in the wake of the 9/11 attacks that a conspiracy theorist might proffer that it was pre-written for just such an event, contained a trove of civil rights abuses that, to this day, continue to weaken our constitutional order.
Signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2001, the act did not authorize domestic spying per se, but it did give the president broad authority to conduct surveillance on persons in and outside the U.S. merely “suspected” of having ties to al-Qaeda. If you regularly follow establishment media and you’ve fallen for the notion that the stock market is the primary measure for economic health in this country, then you probably also believe that the recovery has taken hold, that the economy is growing, and that our elected officials have done a great job dealing with the crisis.
Never mind the record job losses or the over 100 million Americans who depend on a government distribution in some form to make ends meet. Officials in political and financial spheres, through their manipulated job statistics and financial market intervention, have convinced the majority of people that things are actually getting better. Arizona state Senator Kelli Ward made good on her commitment to introduce legislation that would withdraw all state support of the NSA and hang a big “Spies Not Welcome Here” sign on the front door of the Grand Canyon State this week.
After being the first legislator in the country to announce an intent to do so last fall, Ward along with nine sponsors introduced the Fourth Amendment Protection Act on Wednesday.SB1156 also garnered four co-sponsors, including senate President Andy Biggs. A 20-year-old woman has been raped in public by as many as 12 men on the orders of tribal elders in a village in eastern India, according to local police.
The attack, in Birbhum district about 120 miles from Kolkata, was a punishment for an “unauthorised” relationship with a man from another village and the woman’s subsequent failure to pay a 50,000 rupee (£490) fine, local media reports said. “Dear subscriber, you are registered as a participant in a mass riot.”
That was the message received by all mobile phone users who were in the vicinity of protests in Kiev, Ukraine Tuesday morning.
In what many are saying is a move straight out of George Orwell’s novel 1984 the Ukrainian authorities are using cutting-edge pinpointing technology and presumably a “pirate” cell phone tower to intimidate and track protesters. Colorado –-(Ammoland.com)- Recently an incredibly reliable source with the highest access to this type of information informed me of the following. This is not some Internet conspiracy crap, this is the real deal, it really happened.
Back a few years ago when the so-called “D.C. snipers” were murdering people in the Washington D.C. area a new plan was enacted by conventional police in the Maryland and Virginia urban areas. Continue reading “Stunning Citizen Roll Over – What Happened To “…From My Cold Dead Hands.””
A federal judge has ruled that a New Orleans newspaper must turn over information it has about anonymous commenters as part of an investigation into prosecutorial misconduct in the Danziger Bridge shootings that took place following Hurricane Katrina.
US Magistrate Judge Joseph Wilkinson decided Tuesday in favor of a lawyer for Stacey Jackson, the former New Orleans Affordable Homeownership executive director who has been accused of misusing federal funds before and after Hurricane Katrina for personal benefit. Theft and bribery are among the charges she is facing. Continue reading “New Orleans paper must reveal online commenters’ identities – judge”
The art of cyber-stalking is about to get an upgrade, as a team of computer whizzes on Kickstarter.com work towards a pocket-sized drone that is silent, maneuverable and, most importantly, so easy to set up it could probably be used by a chimpanzee.
What’s more, the “world’s first multicopter” is built well enough to carry a portable camera – any camera, in fact, as long as it’s about 15 grams in weight – and can even be operated from an Android phone or tablet via a USB port. Continue reading “Photographers and stalkers rejoice – pocket drones coming soon”
DALLAS (AP) — The pregnant, brain-dead Texas woman being kept on life support over her family’s protests is carrying a fetus that is “distinctly abnormal,” attorneys for the woman’s husband said Wednesday.
Marlise Munoz remains hooked up to machines in a Fort Worth hospital, while her husband and the hospital are locked in a court battle about whether to retain life support. The case has raised questions about end-of-life care and whether a pregnant woman who is considered legally and medically dead should be kept on life support for the sake of a fetus. The case has gotten the attention of groups on either side of the abortion debate, as anti-abortion groups argue Munoz’s fetus deserves a chance to be born. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The largest object in the asteroid belt just got more attractive: Scientists have confirmed signs of water on the dwarf planet Ceres, one of the few bodies in the solar system to hold that distinction.
Peering through the Herschel Space Observatory, a team led by the European Space Agency detected water plumes spewing from two regions on Ceres. The observations, published in Thursday’s issue of Nature, come as NASA’s Dawn spacecraft is set to arrive at the Texas-sized dwarf planet next year. KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Tensions in Ukraine spread far from its embattled capital on Thursday as hundreds of people in the city of Lviv stormed into the regional governor’s office and forced him to write a letter of resignation.
Kiev, the capital, has been the epicenter of two months of protests against President Viktor Yanukovych after he turned away from closer ties to the 28-nation European Union in favor of getting a bailout loan from Russia. The protests have turned violent this week as pro-EU demonstrators feel Yanukovych has ignored their demands to resign, call a new election and rescind his harsh laws against protesters. SAN DIEGO (AP) — A man who went from teenage millionaire to convicted con artist to professional fraud fighter and pastor was convicted Wednesday of cheating his San Diego church congregation out of some $3 million.
Barry Minkow pleaded guilty to embezzling funds from the San Diego Community Bible Church, a U.S. attorney’s statement said. He was already serving a five-year sentence for a securities fraud conviction in Florida and could get five additional years when he is sentenced for the new conviction April 7. NASHVILLE, January 22, 2014– As eight states have introduced legislation to keep the NSA out of their borders, Tennessee’s newly introduced legislation packs the strongest punch yet.
The bill is known as the “Tennessee Fourth Amendment Protection Act”. State Senator Stacey Campfield (R) and State Representative Andy Holt (R) are the Senate and House sponsors. The bill was drafted and lobbied for by the Tenth Amendment Center, a national think-tank, which seeks to impede unconstitutional federal laws, regulations and entities on the state level. In essence, China has been slowly buying up the Federal Reserve for some time now. If you can call it a purchase. Its more of a negotiation over assuming the liabilities of both the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury.
The Federal Reserve is the largest holder of U.S. debt at $2.1 trillion. China is second at $1.3 trillion. Think of it as the United States government doing a debt consolidation of all its treasury bonds because it can no longer pay or service the debt. There is a lot of chatter amongst conservative “2nd Amendment cops” and military folks about how they will not obey the orders when the grand pronouncement is made to take guns. It will be a cop sit out. What will really happen is quite different. Your Republican cop or military buddy will gladly and patriotically take your guns.
Gun grabs and grabs of anything else – children, money, real estate, raw milk – don’t come down the chain of command as such. There is not an edict that comes out saying: Continue reading “Your 2nd Amendment Cop Buddy Will Take Your Guns”
