Federal Bill Would Make Owning Body Armor a Crime Punishable by 10 Years in Prison

Democratic members of Congress apparently aren’t going to be satisfied until American citizens are completely and utterly defenseless.

Representative Mike Honda (D-CA) has introduced a bill for consideration of the new Congress which would prohibit the ownership of certain types of body armor for civilians.

H.R. 378 would make it a crime to own Type III body armor which would be punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Yeah, 10 years in prison.

Of course, there are carve outs in the bill for state/federal employees and agencies. The bill does also include a grandfather clause for people who currently own this type of armor.

Fortunately, with the GOP solidly in control of both houses of Congress this bill will likely never see the light of day. That said, it’s a great insight into how little some members of Congress care about the personal safety of their constituents.

The bill is co-sponsored by Representatives Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL), Robin L. Kelly (D-IL), and Danny K. Davis (D-IL).

The bill is currently sitting in the House Committee on the Judiciary.

  1. I’ll go you one better… I say make it a crime punishable by death.

Exclusively applied to pigs and ANY military personnel NOT fighting FOR this country.

    I could live with that.

  2. Hey wait… if we’re in a war on terror then how come We the People are being disarmed?
    Answer me that representative Fukkface!

    1. Mike Honda, (D), Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL), Robin L. Kelly (D-IL), and Danny K. Davis (D-IL) have all committed treason. However, since the communists have taken over the US, there is little we can do, because it is now that the government is afraid of the people.
These traitors should be jailed and put on trial immediately. These people are evil beyond the core, anyone that would write this bill or even support it, are clear cut communists and most likely devil worshippers.

  3. F them. I will wear what the hell I want to wear. If I were some of these politicians I would be wearing body armor every day for how they are screwing over this country. There is a reason that guns aren’t allowed in DC. It’s for the scum to be protected. But there is going to come a day where people are going to march across those bridges and clean up that city the best they can. It definitely needs to be done.

  4. I guess they might as well out law the bullet proof back packs , and chalk board shields they try to make the kids believe will save them

I ain’t giving up my guns any faster than my protection items
So just like my guns “come and take it”

    1. Exactly! How come they aren’t outlawing those bulletproof backpacks?

Oh wait. It’s all about the children with these Satanic bastards, right? 🙄

    2. Sense this is not America anymore and has not been for a hell of a long time…In name only.. do real Americans really care at this point what unlawful/BS/fake law the criminals pass..I know I don’t and will do as i see fit to secure my family from the criminals called The US IN NAME ONLY GOVT.

  5. Poor man’s level IV body armor can be made using 1″ sheets of high density polyethylene (HDPE). That stuff is reported to be able to stop a .308/7.62 x 51 round at point blank range. Can be picked up on Ebay for ~$25 for an 18″ x 18″ sheet. Stick it in an oven at 180 degrees and it can be molded to fit contours (such as a chest or back). Let’s see em regulate that . . . .

    1. Thanks for the info, Godzilla. That’s good to know. I might look to buy some of that and experiment with it.

Other interested parties should remember that unless you’re a fan of baggy clothing, an inch thick on front and back will take up a lot of space, and may require a larger wardrobe to cover it.

  6. This piece of legislation is only for the purpose of Mike Honda, showing his gun grabbing constituents, that he is still fighting for their commie beliefs. He probably has an election coming up and needs something to point to, to be re-elected. When you have co-sponsors like Alcee Hastings, that says it all about about the insanity of the left.

  7. They will do whatever they can to make the civilians easier to control and kill because they are fully aware that the day is coming for retribution on these piles of feces. To hang all of these traitors would take to long, ditches, bull dozers, and firing squads would be a lot quicker but for sure some do need to hang and made a public spectacle out of! And to think there are those who still truly believe that voting can fix this is a living testament to how far gone critical thinking actually is. 100 years of failure and they still don’t see the writing on their forehead.

  8. I like how they go and try to out law something that already been for sale to the public for many years ..
this tells me we are getting closer to the day of reckoning.. are you ready to be an out law?

  9. Another seditious bill designed to thwart (overthrow) the Constitution. By establishing restrictions on Citizens and allowing certain class to maintain those rights or privileges, they are Establishing a Royalty Class, something expressly prohibited in the Constitution. It is simply another attempt to Overthrow the Constitution by “rule of law”, it’s also called Treason.
In truth, what they are doing is Criminal.

  10. Federal firearm laws, already illegal, are now expanding into items.

Obviously body armor is not an offensive weapon.

Why not make it 20 years for obtaining steel toe boots?

  11. This is unconstitutional. As well as ridiculous. I had to look this one up, because I couldn’t believe it was real. It is. This bill even prohibits helmets and shields, for real.

People will just figure out how to make their own. There is still plenty of American ingenuity.

But if we are not going to be allowed to own guns, then why would we even need body armor? Against the law to defend ourselves. A victimless crime in the most absurd sense.

Next I can see it forbidden to wear face-obstructing hairstyles or head coverings, so as not to impede the facial recognition machinery of the State.

    1. Banks are already insisting that we remove our sunglasses and hats in banks. Cellphones, too. You are suspicious if you are waiting in line and doing nothing and even more suspicious when you are not standing in line doing nothing.

  12. Didn’t another political asshole try and introduce a law a few weeks ago to make it illegal for someone to wear hoodies? It might have been in California.

    Unfrigginbelievable….

  13. You really think repuks are less likely to do what democruds would do? How are they any different! Aren’t we still getting $50,000(? that’s what was on Drudge) per person obummercare! Aren’t we still getting amnesty, and unlimited foreign workers (h1bs and the last days of tech)! One world trade treaties! etc. etc. Blaw blaw! And in my opinion they are even worse than what the democruds wanted!

So what’s worse, the cobra in the grass, or the cobra in the grass! Do you really care which cobra bites you! Wouldn’t you rather get rid of both cobras!
