Former Microsoft Exec Aims to Create National Marijuana Retail Chain

MarijuanaMashable – by Seth Fiegerman

Jamen Shively hopes to do for marijuana what Starbucks has done for coffee.

Shively, who worked as a corporate strategy manager at Microsoft until 2009, took part in a press conference Thursday accompanied by Mexico’s former president to discuss his plans to build a national marijuana brand in the U.S. called Diego Pellicer.

During the press conference, Shively laid out his ambitious plans to attract $10 million in funding for the new company and eventually bring in tens of millions of customers, according to The Associated Press.

“Let’s go big or go home,” Shively said in an interview with The Seattle Times before the press conference. “We’re going to mint more millionaires than Microsoft with this business.”

Shively plans to buy up medical marijuana dispensaries in Washington and Colorado, and to set up the operation’s headquarters in Seattle; Washington recently voted to legalize marijuana. Shively stayed somewhat vague on his plans to comply with federal laws in setting up a national operation.

So how exactly does a former Microsoft exec end up in the marijuana business? As Shively explained in a television interview late last year, his great grandfather was the world’s largest marijuana producer. “I’ve got marijuana in my blood, so to speak,” he said.

  1. Wow. What a brainiac. Gonna sell something to the dumbed down American public that they can grow for free. He must have worked out a deal with the Mexican cartels and the feds.

  2. Hey man want to buy an ounce or two or ten of mexican brown paraquat weed?

“I’ve got marijuana in my blood, so to speak,” he said.”

I thinking he’s NOT speaking figuratively here.

  3. They will probably use gmo varieties as well.
I think it was Holland planned to introduce their gmo variety as the main crop to be grown.

  4. Weed grows so easily a kid could grow it. It would grow in fields all over Europe like the nettle, naturally. No need for human interference. Why pay the micro-tard to do it?

I remember a person in Amsterdam who was an American doing research on weed. He got the blessing from the Dutch government whilst the University of Utrecht couldn’t. I saw his greenhouses on the roof of an Amsterdam apartment using google maps. Several growers and coffeeshop owners in Amsterdam told me he was up to no good.
I saved the article…I just can’t find the article here or online.

Anyone out there have this info?

So, I suspect they’ll screw up weed like they screwed up tobacco. Tobacco is much less a problem when it’s smoked with a water-pipe and grown naturally….without the phosphate fertilizer that makes the plant uptake polonium from the soil.

” Pack-and-a-half smokers are dosed to the tune of about 300 chest X-rays. ”

I wouldn’t smoke tobacco because of the other poisons. And why bother, weed is so much better, and safer. Weed heals…tobacco kills.

No wonder tobacco is legal and weed isn’t. Tobacco kills and that’s what they want. Problem-reaction-solution. Besides the medical problems caused by corporate faux tobacco supports the faux cancer treatments.
Dosing lung cancer victims, caused by radioactive polonium, with more radiation to kill them faster. Sick and twisted to the extreme!
