ReutersA former top U.S. Senate aide awaiting trial on child pornography charges was found dead after what may have been a suicide, a Maryland sheriff’s department said on Friday.
The body of Jesse Loskarn, 35, a former chief of staff to Republican Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, was discovered in the basement of his family’s home in Sykesville, Maryland, on Thursday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. A preliminary investigation indicates he may have taken his own life, the statement said.
Loskarn was arrested last month by U.S. postal agents on suspicion of possessing and attempting to distribute child pornography.
Alexander, who is seeking a third term this year, fired Loskarn following his arrest.
“For everyone involved, this is a sad and tragic story from beginning to end,” Alexander said in a statement.
A judge released Loskarn last month into the custody of his parents, who live in Sykesville, and ordered him to have no access to the Internet while under house arrest.
A criminal complaint said a hard drive seized at Loskarn’s home in Washington, D.C., contained footage of a prepubescent girl being molested, along with hundreds of videos of underage boys engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation launched in 2010 by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Toronto police into a movie production company that made films featuring naked young boys, according to the criminal complaint. One of the company’s customers was Loskarn, the complaint said.
Loskarn had faced a total maximum of 30 years in prison for the two charges.

It’s ironically unfortunate that the same state who aimed to prosecute is directly responsible for the deaths of 500,000 children in Iraq alone with the toll rising every day throughout the globe.The state has no moral authority to prosecute anyone for anything.They have placed themselves above their own immoral and unconstitutional law.We need private police and private prosecutors and private courts where government officials can be held accountable for their crimes against the citizens they are supposed to protect.The current court system only upholds the authority of the state which it is undeniably a part of.There is one branch of government and one political party united under the banner of fascism,which is not an end in itself but only another means of ultimate control by the elite over the ignorant masses.And people think comments like these are bullshit ’cause they never learn’t it at public school and never seen it on 60 minutes.
If Obama can set up a private army, his special governers and czars, why can’t we set up anything we think we need. After all there are more of us than them. Remember the ant?
Unfortunately ants are social creatures which have no freedom of choice.It is sad that although there may be a few who stand for libertarian principles they are overrun by the masses of worker ants or conscripted into the legions of army ants and therefore are never published before they die a cruel death at the hands(or legs) of the ignorant masses before their true value is realized.You know the pheremones of the queen ant are a lot like the propoganda of the government and I don’t think that’s a bad analogy.Thank you for mentoning ants.I hope you have learned as much from this amusing exercise as I have.

I can only agree but we get sucked into a single situation and the greater evil slips by unnoticed.We tend to strain the gnat only to swallow the camel when if the camel was no longer among us neither would be the gnat.Of course we would never want to be rid of the ant,camels or not,for we have already definitively shown that some few of them live on libertarian principle.
