Pittsburgh Post-Gazette – by Andrew Goldstein
As many as 10 train cars derailed this morning in Hazelwood, Allegheny County emergency officials said.
The incident was reported around 10 a.m. near the 4100 block of Second Avenue, officials said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if there were any injuries or what the train was carrying. Some of the rail cars were on their side, and their wheel sets separated from the cars.
Allegheny Valley Railroad confirmed the derailed train belonged to the company but had no further comment.
John Poister, state Department of Environmental Protection spokesman, said his agency had not been alerted to the derailment as of 10:30 a.m.
The derailed part of the train includes six covered hopper rail cars and four open hopper cars.
Doesn’t it seem rather odd that all of a sudden in the past few years we are experiencing oil spills and train wrecks?
Think about it.
These were nearly unheard of for decades, and now all of a sudden its damn near common.
Yep George, and I also notice the accidents are never located where the TSA/Fusion center /Boarding Station (searching / grope) are
This one apparently happened within a short time of the passenger train wreck in Philly…I think that one was at 09:30; 7 or 8 fatalities.
9:23 as in September 23 front car was HIT knocked into infield all other cars tipped outward as in normal g force physics dictates
wheres Casey Jones?
We’re experiencing more of these because we took money from upkeeping our infrastructure and gave it to the Pentagon. It’s pretty simple.
“AUSTERITY” = defunding AMTRAK………but not the Pentagon.
At what point will the CDC declare this an epidemic?
