French army set to quell anarchy

Daily Mail

Emmanuel Macron has condemned the Paris carnage and vowed to bring the rioters to justice, as France faces a state of emergency and calls to send in the army.

Violent protesters occupied the centre of Paris yesterday and torched cars, smashed windows with clubs and axes and clashed with riot police firing tear gas and water cannon on the Champs-Elysees, in France’s worst urban rioting in more than a decade.

The ‘yellow vest’ protests, which began as a rebellion against a fuel tax hike but have expanded into weeks of civil unrest, spread across the country yesterday and ended with 133 people injured, including 23 police officers, and 412 arrested last night.

Today Macron visited the battleground at the Arc de Triomphe – which was desecrated by protesters with messages calling for him to resign – as the French government said it would consider imposing a state of emergency to end the violence.

  1. OMG!! I hope many will take the time to watch the 5 or 6 very short vids in this report. Got me asking myself if this is the fate of every major city on the globe. The Parisians are beyond pissed with this new carbon tax and with a non-living wage making it harder and harder to make ends meet. Creeping communism.

Seems like a legitimate protest, yet we do not know what socialistic elements are at work. I did see a Che poster in one vid. Still, for those who cannot afford to meet basic needs, no particular “ism” matters. How much can they stretch us? Just trying to break this down and sick in the heart about it.

Global prison screaming out for The Bill of Rights.

  2. France is on the same path as the US, just farther down the road….Marxist socialism has brainwashed two generations into believing diversity is good, rampant unchecked immigration and the working class gets stuck with the check for all the free stuff.
Take heed, America…learn what works and what doesn’t. Our time is coming.

  3. The hands on the minute-to-midnight clock keep getting pushed back. Critical mass keeps becoming more critical. I cringe when I see writers posit “military solutions.” So hard to get folks to look beyond the state.

They are making those who are rational appear insane, especially on societal issues. I have to work on becoming fearless. Ha! A life’s work. It will take much strength of mind. I gotta keep thinkin’ “Out of chaos, calm.” What a time we will have of picking up the pieces. But pick up we will.

    1. I placed what was written on the banner of the firefighters at the end of the vid onto the translate page:

“Moins de secours pompiers endanger.” It translated as “Less firefighting endanger.” Might roughly be something like stop endangering us.

Now the police remove their helmets to show solidarity with the French people AGAINST Macron. 45 second vid:

  4. Ha! Talk about nationalism. Today is the first time I even read the entire wording of The French National Anthem. Here is the song and the English translation:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIxOl1EraXA

Let’s go children of the fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny’s bloody flag is raised!
In the countryside, do you hear
The roaring of these fierce soldiers?
They come right to our arms
To slit the throats of our sons, our friends!

    Grab your weapons, citizens!
    Form your battalions!
Let us march! Let us march!
    May impure blood
    Water our fields!

This horde of slaves, traitors, plotting kings,
    What do they want?
    For whom these vile shackles,
    These long-prepared irons?
Frenchmen, for us, oh! what an insult!
    What emotions that must excite!
It is we that they dare to consider
    Returning to ancient slavery!

    What! These foreign troops
Would make laws in our home!
    What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would bring down our proud warriors!
    Good Lord! By chained hands
Our brows would bend beneath the yoke!
    Vile despots would become
    The masters of our fate!

    Tremble, tyrants! and you, traitors,
    The disgrace of all groups,
    Tremble! Your parricidal plans
    Will finally pay the price!
Everyone is a soldier to fight you,
If they fall, our young heros,
    France will make more,
    Ready to battle you!

    Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,
Bear or hold back your blows!
    Spare these sad victims,
    Regretfully arming against us.
    But not these bloodthirsty despots,
But not these accomplices of Bouillé,
All of these animals who, without pity,
Tear their mother’s breast to pieces!

    Sacred love of France,
    Lead, support our avenging arms!
    Liberty, beloved Liberty,
    Fight with your defenders!
    Under our flags, let victory
    Hasten to your manly tones!
    May your dying enemies
See your triumph and our glory!

    We will enter the pit
    When our elders are no longer there;
There, we will find their dust
And the traces of their virtues.
Much less eager to outlive them
    Than to share their casket,
We will have the sublime pride
Of avenging them or following them!

    1. ps: When I read these lyrics my first thought was that they very well could have been written by someone we all know well. Then I see they were written in 1792. Well, could have been the great-ancestor of that same someone.

pps: This event is rocking Europe and almost no mention on national news. One wonders why.
