A grand jury has indicted six police officers in the death of Freddie Gray, a Baltimore resident who died after sustaining a spinal cord injury while in police custody.
On May 1, State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby charged all six officers involved in the incident and said Gray’s arrest was illegal.
Mosby faced intense criticism for the charges she filed against the officers:
- Officer Caeser B. Goodson, Jr. was charged with second-degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, two counts of manslaughter by vehicle and misconduct in office.
- Officer William G. Porter was charged with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
- Lt. Brian W. Rice was charged with involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of misconduct in office and false imprisonment.
- Officer Edward M. Nero charged with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of misconduct in office and false imprisonment.
- Officer Garret Miller charged with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of misconduct in office and false imprisonment.
- Sgt. Alicia White involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
The charges returned by the grand jury were similar to the charges Mosby announced about three weeks ago: all six of the officers now face charges of reckless endangerment. The indictments came after prosecutors presented evidence to a grand jury for two weeks.
“As our investigation has continued, additional information has been discovered, and as is often the case, during an ongoing investigation charges can and should be revised, based upon the evidence,” Mosby said.
At the press conference, Mosby did not go into detail about what the new evidence showed, but a cellphone video shot by a witness that provides a close look at Gray and police actions has been made public.
The video spotlights Freddie Gray in police van stop at Mount and Baker streets, and it, combined with the account of two witnesses, provides a detailed public account of that van stop — a key moment in Gray’s fatal encounter with police.
The video shows Gray halfway out of the van, his stomach flat on the floor and his legs hanging off the back. He does not move as four officers stand over him and place shackles around his ankles.
The officers are scheduled to be arraigned on July 2.

Indicted dont mean nothin’ .. they could still get off scott free
This is nothing but a glorified dog and pony show. They want to deceive the masses that “justice is being served”. These “officers” will get off scot-free. The Zionist media will of course defend the verdict as their masters command.
“Officer Caeser B. Goodson, Jr. was charged with second-degree depraved heart murder,…”
What the hell is THAT?
“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.”
Smoke & mirrors.
oh thats actually a charge .. no kidding
when you have time go look it up
I have no doubt.
Sounds like something idiotic they’d come up with.
Whatever happened to “Book’m Danno. Murder 1”? Where is Steve McGarett when you need him? 🙂
