  1. Privacy definitely isn’t dead. People tend to give up privacy more often than they have it stolen from them. Think about how many people use Facebook and other social media.

    Yes, technology has made it easier to spy on people than ever before, both in the physical world and especially online. But there are countermeasures to just about all surveillance tools or methods. It just takes some knowledge, planning, and discipline to evade or fool surveillance, and most people aren’t willing to make that kind of effort in their daily lives.

    It’s also worth keeping in mind that surveillance technology and methods can (and should) be used by citizens to “watch the watchers,” too.
