Los Angeles police fatally shoot woman armed with knife

Los Angeles police shot and killed a woman they said was holding a knife during a confrontation on Sunday at an intersection near downtown, authorities said.

Two officers responded around 9:30 a.m. to reports of a woman behaving erratically and holding a blade, police said.

The woman, who police said was about 30, was fatally shot at the intersection of East 22nd and South San Pedro Streets, said Sergeant Frank Preciado of the Los Angeles Police Department.

During the incident, both officers fired their weapons, Preciado said. The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police did not release the name of the woman or identify the two officers. They also did not disclose any details about the woman’s injuries.

The details of the shooting were under investigation, Preciado said.

Both officers were wearing body cameras, and additional security video was available for review by investigators, Preciado said.

  1. We got all this evidence, but you can’t see it because it’s under investigation.
An will be till the officers are innocent

  2. “Police did not release the name of the woman or identify the two officers.”

    Mexican, I’m guessin’.

“They also did not disclose any details about the woman’s injuries.”

    Still counting bullet holes.

  3. They went from “knife” to “blade” in this article, and next week we’ll find out it was a nail clipper, but I guess it’s just not a fun day at work unless you get to blow a few holes in someone.

  4. “During the incident, both officers fired their weapons.” Plenty of video not released. I won’t be shocked to find that both pigs emptied their clips. And LOL to your last comment #1.

    1. Hey, Millard. 🙂

We had an interesting day. Went to the gun show in Albany. Bunch of overpriced stuff, but I did manage to find a couple things needed at a decent price.

      1. I enjoy walking through gun shows. You’re right though, most of it is overpriced at these events. Scheels or Gander Mountain present “Slick Willie”, your gun guy!

  5. All of that footage and bodycams. Gee…I’m so glad the politicians made the police have them now as they are making the public aware of everything immediately and it is all “transparent” for the public to see.

Oh wait a second! I can’t see anything! AHH!!! They tricked me….AGAIN! 🙁 (sarcasm)

Those bodycams are for the cops and government to manipulate, NOT for the public. Watch them say how most of the footage was inaudible and useless. Well then, I guess they need to get better cameras then, but we all know that’s not the point. 😉

  6. unbelievable they have more patience with an escaped farm animal on a highway that they cannot subdue a person with a utensil. two ball less men with napoleonic complex wielding deadly weapons acting as public servants
they should be hung in a public square to be humiliated so that everyone on earth could see the disgusting acts they have committed. expletive expletive expletive expletive california excrement lapping pigs
