Merry Christmas, Everybody!!

A few thoughts, on this eve of love and peace, this looming hope that one day, the dignity of freedom and respect will return for all. I think of The Trenches here and The Trenchers in it, each a unique and focused individual. I think of those who dug this particular Trench, Laura and Henry, and their on-going effort to fight the good fight.

I do not know where else I can hang my hat with such certainty that this place is without a selfish or perverted agenda.

I think of Christ, who beyond anything organized delivered a promise of victory over evil if we just love God and love one another.

Seems pretty simple, but yes, I sometimes forget and fall short. But the bar is set. I mean “love one another” might just be another form of Common Law. And if love is too strong a word for some, perhaps The Golden Rule works better.

Anyhow, this rambling is just to say I appreciate all of you, I learn so much from all of you, especially seeing how each moves through life’s challenges and disappointments. So much fortitude and grace, and we get to swear, too. –:)– What a good blend of awareness and righteous anger. Merry Christmas, everybody!! You are certainly appreciated.

  1. Thanks,
    I guess,
Except this holiday feeds the beast, Saturn.
And sorry to tell you Christ is just a rehash of the Babalonian father/son who is in turn a symbolic representation of…… You guessed it , Saturn.

Although well wishes are gleefully accepted i must warn, keep the negative energy generated from consumerism, greed, fear and stress to a minimum. And i offer the best wishes to you and yours on this,
    Saturns eve.

    1. Thanks for your view. Ya know, often the subject of religion, wrapped in history, both true and false, comes up here, and varied perspectives are put out there. I always end up saying to myself: “This is all to big for the comments section; it requires a face-to-face forum, otherwise we’d all be typing for days.” Then that is followed by envisioning a big Trencher-gathering where deep discussion is welcome and encouraged. And in the end, yeah, maybe it would be one of those “agreeing to disagree” things, but we’d know better the scope of what each believes and how he or she arrived there.

History and its books have been so tampered with we are hard-pressed to eke out some truth and have it support our journey through life. It is a wonderful thing to hear the point of view of others, and even to consider its significance, but in the end, all get to decide what’s real for them. That first clause of our First Article sure does sparkle:

“CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF”

In a way it always says to me, “Think for yourself, Galen and no force anywhere can interfere with that.”

        1. I did not take it as an attack at all. Just pointing out how we all look through our own lens, some of us are both pagan and believer. Go figure. We humans are so complicated.

Have a good one, bird dog. Glad to share the Trench with you.

  2. Merry Christmas Galen,

Thanks for your gracious support of our great site.

A site that even a troll or a shill, even a Bolshevik loving Jew will get their 15 seconds. Then, a loving thought from Henry. LOL

Man do I love this site, a forever giving gift.
